This is truly a nightmare for Chelsea. Trevoh Chalobah, their most-used player this season, is being taken off on a stretcher.

What can best be described as resignation on the faces of Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro, and Enzo Fernandez as they are withdrawn for Garnacho, Delap, and Lavia. The good news keeps rolling as PSG replace Bradley Barcola with Désiré Doué. #CFC

#CFC's best chance yet. Cole Palmer skips forward and gets a shot off but the deflection between a PSG defender's legs takes the sting out of it and Safonov is able to save. Joao Pedro can't poke the rebound in. Chelsea remain 5 down

Again, PSG the hot knife, Chelsea the butter. Ball is lost when Caicedo tries to ping a pass I think was intended for Palmer, instead it ricochets off Andrey Santos, carried forward by Zaire Emery, Hakimi picks up on the overlap and plays in Barcola who scores. 7-2 agg #CFC

Chelsea easily undone by a long ball once again. Carved open far too easily and they now have 85 minutes to make up a four-goal deficit against the holders #CFC

Chelsea have been punished for historic issues relating to payments between 2011 and 2018, made by third parties associated with the club, to “players, unregistered agents and other third parties.” What were the payments for? The Premier League’s sanction agreement says those payments include more than £23m paid to seven unregistered agents, or entities associated with them, in connection with the transfer and registration of seven players, including Eden Hazard, Ramires, David Luiz, Andre Schurrle and Nemanja Matic. Two further player names are redacted. There were also payments totalling over £19m noted in the agreement to two entities in connection with the transfer and registration of Willian and Samuel Eto’o, which the document says should be treated as though they were transfer fees paid on behalf of Chelsea. There is no suggestion that any of the players were involved in or aware of any wrongdoing. ✍️ @reallycerys, @SJohnsonSport and @liam_twomey 🔗 nytimes.com/athletic/71229…

Mayra Ramirez has picked up another injury in her rehab, Sonia Bompastor says, and not sure if we will now see her this season. @TheAthleticFC #CFCW

WSL clubs are increasingly investing in young talent from abroad. Sources say WSL academy players are not ready. But why? “It’s easy to say, they aren’t ready, but no one has come down from the top of the club to check on them.” @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/70770…

“Jimmy Savile, he’s one of your own…” Songs referencing Britain’s most notorious paedophile and rapist have been a soundtrack to Leeds United matches for years. They are usually started by opposition fans, before home supporters reply in kind, but little has been done to stop them. Now, the club, campaigners and many Leeds fans have had enough. 🔗 @Simon_Hughes__ nytimes.com/athletic/71039…
