Circa WW2, the US threw tons of public dollars at building housing, because your population needs housing to win an existential war. The boomers reaped that oversupply. We had to deal with the drought of building post 2008.

Very confusing to me I’m not trying to jump in a political bandwagons, which I have done before. I’m trying to come to serious conclusions on how to make it affordable for people. The only thing I can think of is massively increasing the supply, almost as if the government needs to just spend $1 trillion on building homes and dumping them on the market.
