@AMDG_Derek Growing up with the KJV 🙃 the DR is my favorite translation as well. Some verses I do prefer other translations, but most of the time the DR hits for me. Been reading the gospel of Mark in DR and it's amazing.

I've pretty much always read out of the RSV-2CE but lately I've really felt drawn to the Douay Rheims and I have to say... I'm absolutely loving it.

If I had trusted the experts I'd have 10 vaccines and a blood clot now. This line of thinking is dystopian. People trusted the experts and got lobotomies. Take EVERYTHING with a grain of salt, expert or not. Trust yourself and your autonomy.

@RiderintheWest @HarmonsGrocery My parish is FULL every week, and it seems like every week a new person is visiting, or someone who was baptized but not confirmed is coming back. You love to see it. There's at least 7-8 of us who converted from LDS. It's a beautiful thing.

One of my lifelong mentors and friends, who is LDS, is genuinely happy for me converting. He wants to have a sit down talk about my journey and why Catholicism. He's absolutely genuine and curious and has been doubting the LDS faith for a few years. Please pray for me to know what to say, or where to guide him. He's a great man, and has been a fatherly figure for me, and would make an unshakable Catholic.

When I learned a Catholic could lose their salvation I thought to myself “oh thank God”.
As a former Protestant, the whole just believe thing always felt like BS to me.
I don’t want a cheap get out of jail free card. I want truth and reality.

Apparently we should coddle and lie to people about salvation because it might make them “panic” to know they can lose it. This seems like a terrible argument. Anyone can lose their salvation at any time. God makes this clear. Don’t panic. Just be Catholic & go to Confession.
