@frankensal What does it mean if none of those spots feel good lmao… trying to find my G spot makes me feel vaguely nauseous, kinda like poking into your belly button?

the fact that female anatomy is so under-researched sends me into a grief-like state. like, what do you mean there’s an A-spot? i’m discovering basic things about my own body well into adulthood.

@rickygreenbeans I think both. Short-form content decreases attention span, plus so much misinformation and rage-inducing content online. And the algorithm is meant to keep you scrolling.

@twitchyspoonie Genuine question - for many people, do you think it's covid or the fact that we now have screen times of +4 hours a day spent on short form content?

No one is going to want to admit to or talk about their cognitive issues after covid if you talk about them like this though lol. As someone who also has post-viral cognitive issues, the way a lot of y'all talk about that is dehumanizing and irresponsible.
Brunette@mimizima_

It’s some real 1 + 1 = 2 shit like… a virus prone to causing brain damage has spread unmitigated though the population for half a decade. And now society is full of people who are stupider, meaner, more impulsive, less empathetic. It’s not surprising! At all!

@twitchyspoonie Honestly, the way people talk about cognitive issues in general (including intellectual and developmental disabilities) is disgusting. Ableism, superiority complexes, and who knows what else.

Supporting diverse insect communities is an essential part of sustainable food production.🌾 A lot of my recent ecological fieldwork has involved surveying wildflower strips in crop land; documenting the insect communities they support and exploring how this influences both ecosystem health and agricultural productivity. Insects play an essential role in farming systems by providing:
🐝 Pollination
🐞 Natural pest control
🐦 A vital food source for farmland birds and other wildlife. When people think of pollinators, they often think of honeybees, but a wide variety of wild insects are vital pollinators of both crops and wild plants. Predatory and parasitic insects like ladybirds, lacewings, and wasps also play a key role by naturally regulating pest populations like aphids, helping to reduce reliance on insecticides. By providing floral resources (nectar and pollen) and habitats for insects to nest in and escape harvest, we can sustain their populations and in return they continue to provide invaluable agricultural services.

A study comparing 16-to-24-month-old toddlers, untrained companion dogs, and house cats revealed that over 75% of both children and dogs will spontaneously indicate or retrieve a hidden, completely useless object—like a dishwashing sponge—to help a searching caregiver without ever being asked or rewarded. Cats under the exact same conditions showed a near-total absence of helpful actions, completely refusing to assist despite paying the exact same level of close attention to their owner's dilemma. This lack of participation is entirely a choice rather than a lack of understanding because the moment researchers ran a trial switching the hidden object to the pet's favorite treat or toy, all species differences completely vanished and the cats became instantly cooperative. While dogs and toddlers share a cooperative evolutionary drive to view human struggles as shared problems, cats strictly preserve their energy for a guaranteed personal payout.

I am not negating the *actual lived experiences* of late diagnosed people – but I wish they would take a minute to stop negating our very abusive experiences. People really do not understand the realities of being diagnosed as a child and facing the abusive fall out from that.

Folks talk about "oh I was seen as the weird kid being undiagnosed." & We were seen as the weird *special needs* kids which comes with much more abuse. No supports, no fair treatment, mocked, abused, excluded & exhiled. There was 0 understanding from anyone. Including medical.

"Well at least I'd have understood myself better" No, being diagnosed as a kid no one explained it to you. Even if they did, a child couldn't comprehend the complexity. As an adult you have understanding of the diagnosis. As a kid we were even more confused plus facing abuse.

I see a rise in newly diagnosed neurodivergent adults saying they wish they were diagnosed as a kid because then everything would be better. Completely negating the experience of life-long diagnosed folks who have CPTSD from the abuse that came with it. The grass isn't greener.
