@robinmonotti It's weird: I first started noticing these fake-looking flags behind Zelensky, then everybody got in on the act - all at once they all had them. Strange.

Tony Blair made the world more dangerous. He also created the architecture for fake "philanthropy" to dominate British politics, to undermine our industries and our energy security, through ersatz "civil society". We cannot afford any more Blairite poison as remedy.
Tony Blair Institute for Global Change@InstituteGC

In a more dangerous world, weakening our energy security is a risk Britain cannot afford. The transition to net zero must be managed with realism, stability and security in mind. The UK faces a clear choice: strengthen domestic energy supply or increase our dependence on imports.

@alexmassie We're no better - Borderlands Growth Deal is about to stuff £10.5 million into the pockets of an external contractor to produce a report - a report! into re-opening the Borders Railway to Carlisle. It'll never happen, £millions spent for zero tangible benefit.

@katieheffe @sigourneybeaver Yes, looking at my last order I bought a Thinkpad T480 from them this time last year for £190 and it's been brilliant so far.

@Reformed_scot I agree, IndyCar is way better than F1 as far as racing goes these days. Same for F2 and F3 (for now at least, until they go the same way).

@_Farmergeddon Same up here - they're going to stuff £10.5 million into the pockets of consultants for a feasibility study into extending the Borders Railway to Carlisle, which everyone knows will never happen. It's deliberate.

@clim8resistance Maybe we should have a modern day 'Saucepans for Spitfires' campaign, where we donate all the pots and pans that we wore out banging for the NHS a few years ago.

@thesundaysport I have an overcoat that I only ever wear for funerals. I always hang it up again leaving the order of service cards in the pockets, and it's sobering to realise just how full they seem to be getting these days.

Off to a funeral later. Natural sadness, but also some joy that I can now get into my funeral pant. Just.

@fenlandflo They've just banned greyhound racing in Scotland (even though there is none!), I fully expect hound trailing to be next on the list. Who knows after that - dogs off leashes, then dogs altogether, I think. Sounds mad but it'll happen.

Saving a sector as it nears the point of actual collapse isn't supporting Britain's "workers". If you can only see the loss of jobs your agenda is causing at the extreme end of energy intensity, then you are functionally blind. You are not supporting steel or steel workers. You're just making steel more expensive. That's bad for everyone. You are a fucking idiot.
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer

Last year, the future of British Steel was on the line. Scunthorpe’s steel furnaces were hours away from shutting down. I couldn’t let thousands of people lose their jobs. So we saved British Steel. Time and again, people want to write off Britain’s workers. The Tories did it again and again. My Labour government will never leave workers behind. We’re investing in British steelmaking across our country – so we can make more of our own steel here at home.

@roketronnie Still go to Newcastle VERY occasionally, haven't been for a couple of years though. Remember Dickie Davies introducing greyhound racing from Harringay on World of Sport, hard to believe it was once shown on mainstream TV.

Last year I contacted my local MP John Grady about Grooming Gangs and the lack of safety for women and children in the Bridgeton Cross area of Glasgow. We host the highest number of supported asylum seekers in any single local authority in the UK. We host 60-70% of asylum seekers in Scotland, and my area which is one of the most deprived areas in Scotland and Europe, is a central dispersal point. Every evening gangs of men walk up and down our roads. There is visible drug dealing and human trafficking. We’ve had incidents related to men at play parks. We’ve had 11 local Armed response call-outs in 2025, a further 10 centrally, and we also host the SNP drug consumption room, which of course attracts the criminal gangs associated with the large groups of male asylum seekers. Only one, of our local housing associations has a contract with MEARS for ~£15,000,000 spanning the last 5 years. We have a preponderance of Vape shops and Barbers, often not registered, and the area has become unrecognisable. Many people outside my area or from the middle and upper class will say that this is not the case. I will say to them to spend a night or a week in Bridgeton and to observe what’s happening, look at the local crime statistics, speak to the local Coppers and then come back to me. John Grady my local MP has ignored my concerns for my own safety and for that of other women and children in my area. For that reason he will find himself out of a job come the next election. Glasgow East now has a Restore Britain branch, which will be operating a professional outfit, and which wants to involve all people in the local community, using the existing community structures. People who are negative are not welcome. We are out to improve our area, our safety, and to hopefully extend that to the whole of Glasgow East. By everyone I mean that we will be engaging on all levels with all people in our community: Nursery teachers, hairdressers, Mums, daughters, Dads, young men, Fire Brigade, Police, small business owners, mechanics, electricians, and many others not defined in those categories. We would like to hear from everyone. Emails will be sent out soon to those who have already expressed an interest, and I would like to remind the Scottish Government that in Scotland at the moment at least, we are still protected in terms of having a Political opinion and freedom to voice that. Glasgow East End will hopefully start to have a voice, and that will hopefully be heard nationally with @RestoreBritain_ .

@SartorialThug @tnorris03 Mine do too, they just head for the hedge but this one must have decided to sit it out for whatever reason. Interesting behaviour from both though, poor thing must have been terrified.
