@Iain_L

If leaving the UK is great, why do those wanting it lie about it constantly and often block discussion. Reposts not an endorsement.

Even now, with the SNP in full election flow, spreading disinformation whenever possible, the constitution is only considered important by 12% of poll respondents

Despite the FM’s rhetoric, even today Scotland’s constitutional future is way down the list of people’s priorities.

The Government know we need oil & gas. They just don’t want to use OUR oil & gas. 👉 End the ban on new licences. Now. 👉 Scrap the EPL. Now. 👉 Permit Rosebank & Jackdaw. Now.

Perhaps this question also needs to be asked of @RussellFindlay1 and @AnasSarwar. MSPs of your parties clearly didn’t agree with the SSI, so why no audible objection to force a vote? Victims have been ignored again
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇬🇧Iain_L 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿@Iain_L

What on earth happened here @POScotParl? Have we now got prisoners getting an automatic early release after 30% of their sentence because you didn’t hear any objections? Surely something has to be done about this

@Iain_L And as this detailed technical analysis shows, it's not just a question of having some baseload power to kick in when the wind doesn't blow or the sun. shin.x.com/rogerlwhite/st…

1/2 This long, technical. paper by @KathrynPorter26 should be compulsory reading for all (especially Scottish nationalists) who believe a golden future of cheap renewable energy awaits a separate Scotland. watt-logic.com/2026/03/14/sco…

@Iain_L Erm...naw. I was alive in 2014 and remember it well. You owe @ronniecowan an apology but I expect you won't offer it. If you have to make things up to argue for your beloved Union, try harder or just stop.

I know it’s a recognised nationalist trait, but you really ought to stop lying to people Ronnie. You know damn well that mentions of oil running out had the corollary of ‘if no new sites were found’ or similar added.
Ronnie Cowan@ronniecowan

Wait a moment! The U.K. political parties said oil was running out back in 2014. 👀 Could they have been lying ? 😮 Gosh. What a shocker. 😮 12 years later it still being squandered by incompetent U.K. governments. We can change this. #bothvotesSNP

I think we know who the Pinocchio emoji is for don’t we C? Why don’t nats ever remember the important corollary added to the ‘oil will run out’ comment they love to cite? You know, the one that said ‘unless new sources are found’

It’s funny that they are all now chomping at the bit to drill endlessly for oil in the North Sea Same people who told Scotland 12 years ago that there was fuck all oil left there 🤥😂

@_CM_67_ No one said that. What we did say was that it was not sensible to base your entire economic argument for separation on a high spot price (as Salmond did) for a volatile commodity. If anything, the years since 2014 have proven that absolutely right.

The Scottish golf open will receive a £6.3 million boost 🙄 from the Scottish taxpayers. They have signed a 3 year deal. So nice of them to give away taxpayers money when we see vital services being cut 🙄 They will do anything for a headline but when it comes to reducing drug deaths, reducing hospital waiting times or reducing homelessness nah that’s to much like hard work 🙄🤦🏼‍♂️

Unless I have misunderstood the graphs, each one shows a reduction in net migration from 2022, to 2023 which was the last year of data available. I would also suggest that the Brexit vote in 2016 may have had something to do with the uptick
Laurie Macfarlane@L__Macfarlane

NEW: We often hear that Scotland’s more progressive income tax is “driving people out the country.” New HMRC data shows the opposite. Far more taxpayers are moving to Scotland than leaving it. Let’s look at the data 🧵
