@shepm I haven’t a mental image of Grétry’s appearance but I guessed, because he was born in Liège, that it was him! I’ll be on the lookout for more Grétry operas in this theatre. Only seen Zémire et Azor 👸👹 & Richard Cœur de Lion ♥️🦁

I need some help here: that’s obvs Wagner sitting in the middle, Rossini standing to his right, but who is the white-bearded man behind him to the left? Gounod? I’m guessing Gounod because Faust is one of the operas depicted on the ceiling along with Walküre & Guillaume Tell 🤷🏻‍♂️
