Zohran Mamdani is being heckled right now at a press conference in Brooklyn, NY, by someone whose words I can't hear, but watch how he's dealing with it. Mamdani has the unique skill of knowing how to handle and walk into every room and engage with people, no matter how toxic they are or how their feelings are against him. And many times, make them feel heard. Elected officials, nonprofit and religious leaders, advocates, and activists on both sides of the political spectrum who met with him told me that. Don't take my word for it, President Trump is pretty public about it. That's why he's currently the mayor of New York City. If you don't like his politics or you're like me, who opposed his candidacy and is still troubled by some of his actions and statements, then don't take this post the wrong way; read into it how you should be better to communicate your message. Yes, putting ego aside for any public figure is not easy.

Said before but absolutely confirms what we heard in focus groups. Labour would have walked it with Burnham. Both for the positive - he’s seen as local champion (and it’s rare to hear any focus groups speaks as positively about a politician as Manchester residents to Burnham - across parties) And avoiding the negative - Keir blocking Burnham reinforced sense PM is weak and didn’t care about Manchester/the north.

YouGov / Sky News / Times voting intention *Greens leapfrog Labour into second place* RefUK 23% (-1) GRN 21% (+4) LAB 16%(-2) CON 16%(-2) LDEM 14%(nc), Pollster note: This is the highest we've had the Greens, the first time we've had them in second. It is also the lowest we have had Labour. In terms of how meaningful this is, it is obviously likely driven to a significant extent by the publicity from the Denton & Gorton by-election, as well as any impact it has from the Greens appearing a more viable option and less of a wasted vote. It remains to be seen to what extent it sticks, or whether it fades again as the immediate publicity boost recedes. Sunday/Monday
