@Mtravenecho1@ZSum716 Yes and no. Many who immigrated here for the French culture are shocked that it is missing from many areas of Montreal (the biggest city). Locals did move to the suburbs a lot. Other centers are less affected.
It’s frankly embarrassing, and an indictment of those that lead us, that gas prices in Canada have spiked to over $2 per litre because of a conflict on the other side of the world.
We have, right here in Canada, the fourth largest oil reserves on the planet.
Pipelines should have been built 10 years ago. Refineries should have been built 10 years ago.
We should have an energy policy that puts Canada, and Canadians, first.
This is ridiculous.
If you would have told me in 2015
that in 11 years, the Canadian food bank system would collapse due to poverty and abuse
and that the government, in power for those 11 years, would have a 68% approval rating
I wouldn't have believed it was possible
👉La caste rit de vous. "Le ministre fédéral des Finances, François-Philippe Champagne, a payé une consultante plus de 14 000 $ pour l’aider à rédiger son discours sur le budget l’automne dernier."
@sow413 The Cherry Blossom gift to the US by Japan are in full bloom as well today, a shared celebration of friendship and new beginnings by two great countries. Looking forward to a golden age with our closest and most respected ally.
@archon Yea a sad grognard who doesn’t play enough! Although I’ll be done studying ACKSII right on time to teach the kids with it. They do find the books quite impressive.
All those years ago the idea of connecting would have been insane. What a wonderful world
My MIL has had her debit card information stolen so many times that her bank blacklisted her permanently. She canceled the card and went to her bank, and they told her they would give her an ATM card only. When she spoke to the manager, he said she was deemed too high risk to have a debit card with them any longer.
She's not elderly or unintelligent. She just exists mentally in a world where you should be able to trust people. A world that doesn't exist.
The punishment for scamming should be so severe that the idea of trying it is horrifying. For scammers living in South Asia and Nigeria, we should sanction their countries so heavily that their governments are forced to crackdown so severely that the idea of scamming someone gives them nightmares.
I know too many people who are simply far too trusting who have been taken advantage of. From cars to debit cars.
This is rip tide and drowning awareness month. (I made that up.) Drowning doesn’t look like anything, the kid plops in and sinks. Hire a lifeguard if you’re having a party. Most drownings are when a parent is present. Everyone assumes someone is keeping an eye out. No one is.
But if you want to know the game scenario which I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO FORGIVE, it's in a DC cartoon (sorry I can't remember the title but I think it was Superfriends) in which they face off against an evil game designer, who is famous because "He made a game that no one has ever beaten".
You know what the very easiest game is to create? A game that no one can beat. The second-easiest is a game that everyone can beat. The hardest game to create is one that is difficult, but beatable.
Any fool can make a game that can't be beaten.

@Martyupnorth Biggest horror was Niagara. Order take out, waitress say 15% tip will be included. On top of usual taxes plus city tax. Gives me the terminal and the suggest tips are 20-25-35%.
Good thing I double checked, it was ON TOP of the already included 15%
🚨 67% of Canadians say ENOUGH with the tipping.
Are we finally done pretending every coffee run needs a 20% “thanks for existing” fee?
From Tim Hortons to the self-checkout screens… who else is exhausted?
Drop your biggest tipping horror story below.
Do you always tip?
Look, if you had one shot or one opportunity
To run the greatest game your players ever wanted
One session
Would you prep it all or just let it slip?
His palms are sweaty, rolls are weak, DM's book is heavy
There’s a map on the table already, hand-drawn and messy
They just chopped up his orcs like spaghetti
He’s nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready
To drop plots, but he keeps on forgettin’
What he wrote down, that 20 rolls so loud
He opens his mouth, but no lore comes out
He’s chokin’, now the players start jokin’ loud
The turn’s run out, time’s up, next round, roll now
Snap back to reality, oh there goes sanity
Oh there goes the rogue, he crits
He’s so mad, but he won’t give up that easy, no
He won’t have it, he knows his whole party’s in deep with this foe
It don’t matter, he’s dope, he knows that
But he’s broke, no minis or fancy battle mats
When he goes back to his original roll
That’s when it’s back to the crit again, yo
This whole game craft
He better go capture this moment and not let it pass
You better lose yourself in the session, the moment
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot, don’t fudge that final roll
This opportunity comes once per campaign, yo
