I've had spam calls from Compare the Market 5 times so far this morning, so now my AI Nonna "Rosa" is handling them. Sorry Lenny, we've moved on. youtube.com/watch?v=Km0p1R…

@_colourmeamused I don't understand. My partner and I don't even share location unless we're meeting somewhere and not leaving home together (eg: dinner after work in the city and coming from our respective offices). Even then it's temporary. Can't imaging just sharing with people permanently.

zoomers can’t exist without sharing their location 24x7 with everyone they’ve ever met, it’s like exchanging phone numbers in zoomer culture

@noprentence @VinoNStrosGal Totally agree. Mine is an absolute gem and I get a beaming "Hi Shaun!" as I enter. No judgement, and she'll run me through things to keep in mind if a medication is new. Went elsewhere once and was interrogated for daring to try to fill opioids and ADHD meds at the same time.

@VinoNStrosGal I want to thank my pharmacist, Scott... You have been so good to me, i have horror stories from before you. my Dr told me "find a good pharmacist and make him your friend". It took me awhile but I found one.

This is exactly what happened to me. On March 2, 2026. I was turned away by 55 pharmacies via phone call while trying to fill a legitimate prescription from my pain specialist. I went into acute withdrawal before my dad and I finally found a pharmacy willing to help. Since then I carry a letter from my specialist explaining my condition, my diagnosis, and my treatment plan just to prove I deserve my medication. Patients aren’t “pharmacy hopping.” We’re being forced to pharmacy hunt just to survive.
Justagirl@Justagirlawd

@VinoNStrosGal The bigger issue is now in pharmacists refusing to dispense the medications once you have found a good clinic and doctor. They force the “pharmacy hopping” issue by refusing to fill medications creating a self fulfilling issue. It’s an appalling over reach of power

Mum took me to Bunnings as a bit of a day trip. I'm on the type of painkillers that chemists lock in a time-delay safe so we had a wonderful 2 hours wandering around making "smaller than small talk" & looking at the things.

I genuinely don't know how Atlassian is still alive. Every dev on earth hates Jira. They've made nothing but stupid acquisitions. Loom. Trello. DX. The Browser Company. Just collecting startups like Pokemon cards. Meanwhile the founders are sitting in their multi-million dollar properties while the company bleeds money. It's incredible.
Klaas@forgebitz

so atlassian has never been profitable sounds like a terrible stat for project management software

@mikjcal @sonutizerr I'm the same. I struggle being full time remote. I go in a couple of days a week just to get out of the house. Even if I spend the day on Teams I still get to go grab coffee/lunch/etc with colleagues and have those informal chats you don't have when it's only scheduled meets.

For me personally I would have to say no. I found working from home was quite isolating and I had zero separation from work and home. I went back to the office 5 days a week. I need that mental separation and also to be around colleagues. Even if I’m at my desk with my headphones on, I enjoy the buzz of the office the structure and having a workspace separate to my home.

@shanselman I really feel like it was a story just to get people to get to the marketing fluff at the end. If not someone really needs to actually implement some basic SDLC principles.

@spacepunk Everyone thinks it couldn't happen to them. In 2024 I fell and had multiple fractures including my hip. Off work for 7 months. I luckily had savings but had $50 left when I got my first pay after returning to work. I'm terrified of what would have happened if I didn't save.

When I was in my 20s I had a very severe back injury that left me in quite a bit of constant pain and often took away my ability to walk, stand, or even sit. I was at the doctor's once and told him I was worried about becoming homeless because my injury and he said "of course you wont! Youre in school for microbiology and chemistry! You think homeless people can do that??" It was my first exposure to how painfully and dangerously deluded the well-off are about the homeless and disabled and how only one small misfortune can be all it takes to take *everything* from you

I met a trained chemist who ended up on the streets after he was laid off. He burned through his savings, couch hopped and finally ended up on the streets.

I've started digging out my old boxsets of shows. Most recently I lasted three episodes of horribly cropped The West Wing in widescreen before going back to DVD. I also cancelled my streaming subs when I remembered I have over 1,000 DVDs and BDs in boxes in the garage.
The Green Kasey 🎃@RawbertBeef

Ironically, when you stream The Simpsons, this joke is lost because it was written to be in 4:3 but Disney+ messed with the aspect ratio. Physical media > streaming!

@taipan168 Those type of guests don't care about the issue. They're seeking "service recovery" - ie: compensation. If it really was an issue they would have accepted a room change. Having said that if the hotel did have quieter rooms available then you'd think they'd allocate those first.

Whilst I agree it's bad when there's a loud event that makes your hotel room very noisy, if the staff offer to move you and you decline, there really is not much else they can do. Also: specify a quiet room when booking and request one on check-in. smh.com.au/traveller/revi…

There's a guy at the cafe downstairs with a full desk setup including stand, keyboard, and mouse. Naturally in a meeting. And you people wonder why cafes are banning laptops. Meanwhile upstairs it's rather nice.

Why do American leftists talk like this? Public transit here has gotten worse and worse and if you call it a problem a leftist will come out of nowhere telling you that you’re whiny and soft. I refuse to accept people peeing on the floor next to people just trying to go to work!
welcome to our trash revolution@trash_panda97

i’ve been on the subway with homeless people that peed, screamed, all sorts of stuff. it was mildly uncomfortable but truly didn’t impact my day in any way. maybe your husband needs to toughen up
