@timidghostbird Sorry but this just sounds like you skipped the entirety of khvarena of good and evil quest chain Simurgh already exists in genshin. It would be however, different if you thought he was modern day simurgh which is hinted in Dirge of Bilqis, deshret’s three magi, Remuria plot etc

I haven't seen anyone point out how The Simurgh (from Persian mythology) relates to #zandik so i might as well do it myself (shorter thread from my tumblr post) #dottore #ildottore

@timidghostbird and the in-game simurgh already matches the legendary one in text and essence so I would take her lore into major consideration before applying it to Zandik

@mishrillette I have no idea how i haven't come across that in genshin, really. I suppose you could argue the simurgh is still a divine bird, and dottore is just a man trying to mimick that. I'm not too sure on that though, I didn't even know the simurgh existed in genshin </3

@timidghostbird well i wouldn't categorise simurgh as a God since she neither held a godly position in relationship with humanity nor was she worshipped by anyone sorush, from the AQ, is her child, a Pari she died and the Pari burst forth

@FearTehk That's very fair! To be fair i'm also not an expert, I just looked it up during my free time and found lots of similar things, so I wanted to share. If someone wants to correct me, they should do that actually

@timidghostbird It's definitely come up a few times in my studies! My friend and I were really obsessed with the Pari and Simurgh when we were on our Zandik Order of Skeptics binge. I didn't wanna try to talk on a subject I wasn't well learned on so I ended up just going the Alchemy angle haha.

@mishrillette Which also feels mocking, in a way. I know the colour Persian Blue (which he seems to wear a lot) was also used in mosques, to represent the heavens. He has many allusions to gods and divinity even while being known as the heretic

@mishrillette Oh i had absolutely no idea! Dottore also has similarities to Thoth, maybe they're giving him parallels to all of the gods, not just the Simurgh? Maybe it's to drive home the fact he's a heretic, yet still somehow tries to become a god in his own way

@mishrillette I've read a little about the Pari while I was finding this, and the fact they have been associated with "demons" was interesting, but I haven't found other relations (as far as I know they're mostly female). If you have more info i would be happy to hear it!!

@timidghostbird do you think the mother of the pari, Simurgh who died in the Vourukasha Oasis, could possibly be linked as well? because she IS the benevolent bird who sat atop the Gaokarena in the Oasis

@nemohew I agree! Though you truly never know where hoyo could draw inspiration from, so it's interesting to see all the theories! I am however a persian dottore truther so I had to look into it myself

@timidghostbird thank you for sharing! the buddhism element is of course likely relevant with hyv’s record but the contextual zoroastrian angle felt missing in a lot of post 6.6 theories/analysis
