speaking of parallels between dottore and phanes…the curse dottore placed on the others in nod-krai and hp’s irminsul’s defense mechanisms both barring departure come to mind:

6.3 leaks: it’s neat that dottore has such a heavy bird motif going on (the feathers & beak featured in his clothing, his constellation on the fatui wheel, gadgets in the webtoon, etc…) while wishing to be the heavenly principles — who also happens to be portrayed as a bird:

the locals of tatarasuna did accept escher amongst them but dottore could not allow himself even the illusion of belonging among them. omega especially feels like a reflection of zandik’s inability to escape his internalization of himself as a monster:

thinking of how nahida’s tale of the events in tatarasuna has the locals of tatarasuna treating dottore as one of them & he even comments that niwa had created a welcoming space…yet he had internalized being a “monster” so deeply that he could only lament when shown acceptance:

speaking of the omega segment being a reflection of zandik’s age in tatarasuna…zandik comments that he became more introverted in his forties. perhaps the change had something to do with realizing that even a fellow outcast (scaramouche) could fit in with humans but not him:

omega’s the segment preserving the cognition of dottore in tatarasuna…so there is a certain rhyme & irony in wanderer watching omega be engulfed in flames when kabukimono was made to walk into a blazing furnace there by the human zandik. only one of them survived the fire:
