Golden Forest Finger retweeté

A few months back, I decided I should build a draft pick trade value chart to help people understand the value of *quality over quantity* in the draft space. After some research, I discovered and subsequently wanted to build off of the work @kpelton had placed into his draft pick trade value chart back in 2018
However, there were several tweaks necessary in my view. The TOP Pick is so much more valuable than the others, especially when prospects like Cooper Flagg and Victor Wembanyama stand alone at the top of their classes. While the 2026 NBA Draft appears to be a HUGE outlier, the general theme historically suggests that trading for pick 1 is essentially impossible.
Below are my assigned pick values for all 60 draft slots. However, the fun does not stop there. In the remainder of this thread, I will dig into the methodology, ideology and some important additions I made to Pelton's blueprint.

Here's an updated version of my draft pick trade value chart that takes into account this year's increase in salaries for first-round picks. As always, note that this reflects what picks should be worth based on historical outcomes. In practice, teams pay a premium to move up.
