Day 4: I am free. And while there’s some uncertainty, I know it’s going to be OK.

Going on day 3. Yesterday, I let my team know I was available if they wanted to talk. Leader changes can be difficult. I’ll be honest about my departure and encourage them to work toward financial independence. Financial independence provides an exit ramp, and if you choose to stay, you will never be freer to speak your mind.

@TechOperator Have you trained your replacement? It was always part of my belief system even when I felt the company didn't deserve it. I always knew a trained replacement was better for the people I supervised.

@TechOperator Take a week or three to just decompress. Or longer. You've been in the harness for a while and taking the time to unpack it will help reduce the chance of getting back into a similar situation.
