My work involves a lot of problem solving and a lot of it tends to be common issues.
Today, I solved an issue I've solved tens of times before and I found myself feeling so happy :)
I'm currently unmedicated (damn shortage), so I'm also happy I'm not struggling a lot.

Negative childhood experiences with ADHD can really scar you deep.
Even now, after having been in my company for 3 years, and doing quite well, I get awed at my own ability to do things competently AND consistently.
Not at doing well, but the daily consistency! It's magical!

Its hard to take a break when you have ADHD. If my mental wheel slows down for too long, it stalls. And restarting from 0 is MUCH harder than continously going. I took a break after my exams 2 weeks ago and it hit me now that I've stalled. I don't even know when it happened.

@timidheathen I've said AFAB folks previous times I've mentioned this topic but I got quite a few people asking what AFAB meant.
I've had to change the language I'd use on Tumblr vs here. Decided to say 'women' this time for brevity.

@ABCsofADHD Makes more sense to refer to the dominant hormone system than a gender, as not all estrogen-dominant people are women

@Weathered_M My sister has ED too (and also ADHD).
There's some research correlating comorbidity between hypermobility and ADHD.
And ofc, GI issues is common with ADHD too. Both me and my sister have GI issues.

ADHD can make socializing so tiring. Besides the direct issues, I also became increasing hyperaware and anxious about how I act or what I say. This anxiety itself drains me, which put me off wanting to interact with people.

@StructuredSucc I used to do this! Through no one's suggestion; I just felt I needed meds only when doing stuff that needs focus.
Took me years to realize how wrong I was on how my meds help. They help even more on weekends, and actually allows me to do chores.

The idea that ADHD'ers should skip our meds on weekends is so wild to me.
It feels like an open admission that the people who recommend these breaks think that our worth is only our workplace productivity.
We use (and need) executive function on weekends/vacations too

Ok, I'd seen it as a screenshot and had to do a bit of digging to find the original cause I hate not giving credit to the original poster. They have ADHD too it seems, which is why it aligned perfectly for ADHD.
