Regardless of how you feel about the streamers arrested outside Nancy Guthrie's house -- there are real questions about the legality of arresting someone for being a public nuisance on public property.

The deputies involved in the arrests yesterday will likely face discipline for their honesty about who ordered it. Their commanders, so confident of the charges, should've had no issue putting THEIR names at the bottom of the cites. Instead they want to hide behind deputies.

@AZPCDO WHY is the Sheriff targeting TAX PAYING PIMA COUNTY RESIDENTS that are quietly sitting on the side of the road, talking on the phone, streaming? WHY is he using so many resources for this “cause”? WHY is Sheriff Nanos so protective of this neighbourhood and not the others? ***ESPECIALLY when he is not giving any press conferences on the actual case. WHEN he knows that the sheriffs department is getting FLASE reports. WHEN he knows that the neighbours are spread so far apart, on a lot of land, so pushed back that they cannot even see or hear the streamers from their actual residence and that they are actually NOT being disturbed and the streamers are not the ones causing a nuisance, it’s actually the neighbours that are leaving their residence or driving by stopping to harass them that are causing a nuisance and the people making fake police reports.

This evening, two subjects were arrested as they were live streaming in the Guthrie neighborhood. This arrest order personally came from Sheriff Nanos via chain of command. The public can once again see why we fight so hard to rid ourselves of him.

Let's be honest here. Nanos does not in any capacity have that authority. Jan Lesher made it clear that media and streamers can continue to access the neighborhood. If I were a deputy I would take caution before following an order to violate a persons civil rights. Because when shit hits the fan Nanos will double down on denying it. But I sent a certified letter directly to him this morning. Now he will not be able to claim that he was not aware.

@SAM_EYE_AM_18 These are verbal orders, passed down the chain. The cite for Obstructing a Thoroughfare is rarely used and should be self-evident of the "zero tolerance" edict. It should have been publicly announced beforehand.
