Work hard for 50 yrs and save for a small 2 bedroom apartment in Wales as a bolt hole and sometimes work in peace at. Here’s your Council Tax bill.

Have the honour of being the first customer of the year in The Old Captain Bar, Sifnos. Owner says he probably won't open rest of the week due to bad weather, but if I knock on the door, and he's here, he'll serve me. F*cking love this island.

I'm obviously going to regret this post, but the espressos I've had in Greece this week have been generally better than those I had in Rome a few weeks back.

@Corballyred Probably a fair assessment. He was never the class of Terry or Ferdinand but good enough to get 700 games for Liverpool

As someone who watched Carragher's full career, here's my honest take: He shone in his 98/99 breakout season as a centre-back, winning LFC POTY. Houllier didn't fancy him there and converted him to full-back (mostly left-back), where he rarely crossed halfway. He was heavily linked with Aston Villa at this stage. Benítez transformed him by moving him back to centre-back. From 2005-2009, he was as good as any defender in Europe. Not quick enough for a high line, but brilliant defending deep. He rarely had a bad game and always gave 100% – pure John Terry mould. A very good Premier League centre-back who would've been an excellent partner for Van Dijk. Nowhere near Salah's level, but a very good Liverpool player. 👍

@Raf_THFC @WG_RumblePants Current players in with a shout of still playing for England are unable to criticise although they may well want to. Reward for failure. Very bad

@WG_RumblePants Look at the performance before Key/McCullum, look at them after, night and day. Not perfect, but better. Can it improve - yes. Disgruntled dropped players is par for the course.

So, by my count, the list of players who have gone on record to criticise the Key/McCullum leadership regime is: Anderson Bairstow Livingstone Robinson Foakes Topley

If Arne Slot wins the UCL for Liverpool this season, does he still deserve to be sacked?

@Tarzanjr554 8 seasons of pure joy, integral in ending our 30 year wait for a Premier League. I absolutely love the lad why I'm so defensive of him 👍

I've supported Liverpool since 1987 (ya I'm that old 😂) I've seen some absolute world class players. I'm telling you now Salah is the best of the lot. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise 👍

@Corballyred Stevie G played more games than Mo (710 v 435) scored a ridiculous number of goals (186) from midfield, was at the club for 17 years (12 as captain) & he was a local lad. Beat that.

Lovely day out to Port Eynon today with grand daughter. However, £39 for 2 fish and chips plus a kids version with just soft drinks is mad. With £6 for parking £45 for a day to the beach makes it an expensive day out. Unless something is done to help hospitality this summer we could see many of our UK hospitality businesses really struggling by the end of the year. #UKHospitality #Wales

We're desperately saddened to learn of the passing of legendary Albion goalkeeper, Tony Godden. To this day, Tony holds the record of consecutive Albion appearances, with 228 - and took to the pitch 329 times in total for the club. Rest in peace, Tony. 💙🤍

Heads will go, and underwear will be soiled, over this post, because I like including the fries with the gyros in the pitta wrap, but Greek street food is up there with the best in the world.

@dublin_damo It’s the sort of place I’d like to go to tbh. I don’t like going to places much over 25 degrees. 18-25 ideal for me. Don’t like mosquitos either, so thinking which months to go.

Igor Tudor has left Tottenham Hotspur. The old “mutual agreement”. Spurs had to act. Tudor was clearly out of his depth; his team selection and decision-making against Nottingham Forest was disastrous in a game Spurs urgently needed to win but lost badly. Tudor deserves sympathy and sensitivity because of the sad news of his father’s passing. And Tudor is only partly culpable for Spurs' slide towards relegation. Whoever is in the dug-out has to deal with... 1) a recruitment policy that has led to a squad with too few leaders (the captain gets banned) or responsibility-takers, beyond a few gems like Archie Gray. 2) a chronic injury list compounding squad deficiencies. 3) individual mistakes by players through lack of concentration and application. 4) a lack of direction from the owners and board. From dug-out to dressing-room to board-room, Spurs need stronger leadership. #THFC
