After coming back to @GuildWars2 for last week or so some takeaways.
- GW2 Story telling is top tier. Even the way it's structured is so easy to follow compared to WoW. New players can come into GW2 and go episode by episode from one window. Where as when a new player starts WoW they kind of don't know where to go and just kinda start from Legion Story ignoring the previous 12 years.
- GW2 World Play/Events literally poops on every other MMORPG. Every hour/minute/second of the day there is some World Boss Event, Meta Event, Random Events going on. With anywhere from 30-300 people on your screen.
- GW2 F2P all way to 80 max level. Boggles my mind how the WoW Trial for new players is literally unchanged for god knows how long. Level 20 is a joke. Every other MMORPG in the market especially from big 5 have HUNDREDS of hours for their free trial.
WoW imho still dominates the dopamine hit of quick and easy gear. As well as dungeons and raids. Big time collections and farms. Hands down.
But WoW can learn a thing or two from GW2 and ESO from World content.

There will never be a game as good as vanilla & Burning Crusade World of Warcraft than at its peak.
You log in at 11pm to raid - the best community (mostly racist people in ventrilo) and smash buttons all night.
Today when you log in, you log right off. It isn't the same, but, maybe we're not the same either.

BREAKING: Google is planning to release 32 million mosquitoes across Florida and California. The company has asked the EPA for permission to proceed, with the public given until June 5 to respond. The mosquitoes are infected with Wolbachia bacteria, which stops them from reproducing and slowly collapses the wild population from within. Google's previous Debug Project trial in California's Central Valley nearly eliminated mosquitoes from three test sites entirely. A separate trial in Singapore cut dengue cases by 70% within 12 months. Google has now released over 1 billion mosquitoes across four continents. This new proposal is the largest deployment in US history.

They didn't do anything... They brainstormed with devs and if they are brainstorming 4 MONTHS before a supposable massive release..
Do you really think Classic Plus is coming out at Blizzcon around September?
This is a 2027 release written ALL over it.
Nostalrius closed around 2016, we didn't see Classic until 2019 during the repeat.
Turtle WoW is shutting down officially in a couple days, and there just "brainstorming" at Blizzard's HQ?
When I tell you there wasn't a playtest... there wasn't.
The most we are getting is an announcement at Blizzcon, and that is fine enough. =
