I would have just brushed this off as a "this isn't for me" type of thing and kept scrolling. But given it's clearly a paid-for industry plant that is barely a video game (it plays itself), I'll take a moment to say: It looks shit.

@BasedLudwig @TidyWire It's made by the daughter of the 3rd richest man on the entire planet. It has fucking Ellison money behind it, and the fact that it was produced in Australia means it has outrageous tax credits that cover 30% of the game's cost alone if it spends over $500k

@NoodleGhostly @TidyWire I don't bc IGN is composed of multiple reviewers you can source by name of you really wanted to follow only those journalists. There's plenty of great, well-written reviews if you want to hear people's thoughts even if you don't agree with them.

@TidyWire This game does require inputs? Every new scene is built around mimigames. There's 20 achievements all around getting perfect scores or not missing things. As low as that is for 'engagement', there's plenty of narrative, linear games like this. It's a 3 hour, £15 game.

@BasedLudwig I've got no opinion on the content of the story or the characters or anything like that. But I'm pretty averse to games that don't function like games; ones that don't demand any input from the players. It's a deep topic with many layers to it, but I have reasons.

If a guy working for IGN writes about how much it meant to him to the point it's a 10/10, I think people need to be much more mature as to how they approach review scores. @TCustodis I think one reoccurring thing in the BG3 fandom is how headcanons are treated, but as a pansexual man who has also played a variety of gender identities through my Tavs, I think we should be respectful of people's custom characters even if you personally headcanon otherwise
