The bar is so unbelievably low in SEO. I've taken a lot of clients from other SEO agencies and contractors over the years. And the quality of work I've seen from them is just... awful. It's almost seems like these agencies and contractors learned SEO in 2020, built their strategy off of that, and then never adapted it. They hammer Product Category pages with backlinks, even though that will now get you penalized. They focus their entire blog strategy on top-of-funnel content, even though that kind of content barely gets clicks now due to AI overviews. They stuff so many different keywords into pages, that Google can't even identify the page's intent, and so they don't even rank it. They put thousands of words of content on Product Category pages, even though longer content stopped being better 5 years ago. They build links from sites that have a "high" DR and "real" organic traffic, even though those numbers in SEO tools have been manipulated. But it's fine. It just makes it 10x easier for legit SEO providers to succeed.
