My heart breaks for the family and friends of #TyreNichols! It’s so sad. It’s so painful. My heart hurts for our black men. As a black woman, I feel this pain. I don’t want to watch a video of a black man being murdered. I pray the world will remember you for the way you lived.

Tyre should still be here, with his family and doing the things he loved – like skateboarding and photography. I’m heartbroken and angry. We’ve seen this far too many times. There must be justice and accountability, and a system that makes everyone feel and be protected.

Elijah McCall led a report-back from his visit to the Major Owens Wellness Center in Brooklyn. He spoke about what we in the Bronx can learn from the redeveloped armory in Brooklyn. Big Shout out to Elijah!

Seniors went on a Walking Tour of Kingsbridge Heights to observe the assets and areas of opportunity in the neighborhood. They were in awe of the beauty, they marveled at the stature of the Armory & felt seen by the Teen Zone Librarians at the Bx Library Center.
