I remember during my university days at Ekiti State University, I had a hostel mate whose parents had to struggle for months, sometimes starving to raise just ₦50K for his tuition. Whenever he knocked on my door, I already knew it was to ask for garri. So I would often leave a bowl of garri at my doorstep for him. At one point, he drank garri so often that he vomited it. Fast forward to now, on Sunday, he reached out to me from the United States. He is currently a Proffesor of Physics at Arkansas State University. He reflected on those difficult times, how I used to give him ₦30 for bike transport to and from lectures, how I would take him along to my girlfriend’s hostel so we could eat swallow, egusi spiced with sawa fish together, and how we would go to Ado Market to buy those ₦500 starchy shirts for both of us. He remembered how I would wake him up for compulsory night classes in the cold Ado nights, and how, when he fell sick, I used my own tuition fee to pay his medical bills, then lied to my mother just to get another one. He recounted everything… and then sent me ₦500K “to buy some green bottles.” And that’s just a fraction of what he has done for me in recent times. Never look down on anyone. Today’s struggle can become tomorrow’s success story. I think kindness is an investment that never loses value.

It took @inecnigeria months before they delisted Abure’s name from their site, even after Supreme Court had given the order. It’s barely 6 hours and they’ve removed David Mark’s name from their website. INEC is our number one enemy and we must treat them as such.

Based on our current financial standing, we may not be able to fund all our 2026 South East Maths Olympiad winners to participate in International STEM Olympiad Grand Final in Rome (July 2- 8) to compete with 154 countries. We needed €32,200 but we have limited funds right now and time is against us for the final registrations. I will ensure that at-least one of the student winners, a teacher and a supervisor will represent us in Rome July 2 - 8. We have 2027 South East Maths Olympiad preparation ongoing which is already requiring funds. You can view our public ledger here isee.ng/public-ledger

Dear Governor @alexottiofr, I love how you're shaming the dullards and shaking their tables. Please, it's not too late to do an engineering redesign of your highways and drains to include cable trenches sir. Maybe also trenches for water/gas/sewage - or maybe I'm asking too much? Bury your last mile cables. Sheath them in PPR sleeves, and bury them. Higher CAPEX, but much lower maintenance in the long run. Use Armoured for your 33kv, 11kv and 415v, please. And also, please use fully enclosed transformer mini substations, the lockable plastic-coated, rust-proof metal types. Thank me later sir. Warmest Regards, B. O. Gbadamosi

The ADC is not my cup of tea, but there is now reasonable basis to infer existence of a well orchestrated sinister conspiracy to truncate contested and credible elections in 2027. From what is publicly available, all the Executives of the ADC resigned to allow David Mark and Aregbesola to emerge as the National Chairman and the National Secretary respectively. The man who took the case to the court, Nafiu Gombe, claims that he did not resign as Deputy National Chairman, and that he ought to have automatically assumed the position of National Chairman “in line with the Party’s Constitution”. Interestingly, the ADC held a National Executive Committee where the party ratified its new leadership led by Mark. So, what’s the controversy here? Is dispute over the leadership of a political party no longer the internal affairs of the political party? It used to be the law that issues of political party leadership is non justiciable, or forum domesticum. A Party’s NEC has the authority to decide who should lead the party. If the ADC says they want another person to assume that role instead of the Deputy National Chairman, can the Court compel the same Party to submit to its Deputy? Is this dispute justiciable? Also, the Court of Appeal said the parties should maintain status quo ante bellum. This means the state of affairs before the suit before the Federal High Court was filed by the Claimant. Before the suit, who was the Chairman of the Party? Was it not David Mark? Is this INEC saying that the Order of the Court of Appeal implies that there should be leadership vacuum in the ADC until the case is determined by the Federal High Court? Whose script is this INEC playing? It seems that the ruling party, which prides itself as having over thirty governors in its fold, is so scared of a fair contestation. If it is the desire of INEC for Bola Tinubu to contest as a sole candidate - unopposed, in 2027, let the Commission say so publicly. It will save the country the billions of Naira budgeted for the ‘presidential election’.

BREAKING: AFRO BEVERAGES ABOUT TO GO LIVE AS COMPANY IS HANDED OVER TO NEPAL ENERGIES. Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has approved NEPAL Energies Limited to take over and manage Afro Beverages, which the state recently acquired from AMCON. The government will keep only a small stake (not more than 20%) and hand over the rest to the private company. Governor Otti said the state does not want to run businesses itself. Instead, it wants private companies to manage them efficiently, create jobs, and grow the economy. He expressed confidence in NEPAL Energies and chose them over foreign investors. Abia is open for business! #InvestInAbia

JUST IN: Abia state has now completed the full acquisition of Afro Beverages Ltd located in Aba from AMCON after completing the payment outlined in the takeover terms. This follows the full payment and take over of The Star Paper Mill in Aba a few weeks ago. The Abia state government led by Gov. Alex Otti is now considering bids from Private partners who will then assume control of these two companies to run them efficiently under the strict guidance of the state. The aim is to boost the industrial capacity of Abia and create more jobs and employment in the state. We have been reliably informed that the state is now set to begin the full revitalization of the legendary Aba Textile Mills. #InvestInAbia

There’s something we don’t really talk about enough. Nigeria is connected to some of the most powerful undersea cables ever built: MainOne, WACS, ACE, Glo-1. Billions of dollars of infrastructure sitting right off our coastline. Yet most of my mutuals and I are still buying 1GB for ₦1,000, and it’s finishing in 2 hours. Something is just so deeply wrong, and most people don’t even know where to point the finger.

The first image is La Pietà by Michelangelo, depicting the Mother of God cradling her Son after His crucifixion. The second image was taken on Palm Sunday 2026 in Plateau State, Nigeria, a grieving mother holding her only son, tragically murdered by terr0rists. Both scenes echo the same piercing sorrow: a mother holding her only son, lost in a moment of profound and tragic suffering.

If my brother goes to an island 'A' and establishes a community and I go to another island 'B' and establish a community, the Igbo spoken in island A and the one spoken in island B will never be the same. In fact, my brother, with whom I was born and raised in the same environment, does not use the same exact words and sentence structure as me. That is how dialects form. Dialect is not a reflection of genetic difference. It is a reflection of divergent association. Whether "Bị̀àkéné", "Bị̀àkélé", "Bị̀àgódí", or "Bị̀ádị́", Igbo bụ̀ òfú!
