@jassneetsingha That’s a tough spot… layoffs hit even the solid performers
But optimizing for tax over total comp can backfire long term
Would you rather maximize take-home today or long-term wealth and growth?

A friend at Oracle got impacted in the layoffs.
Was on a call with him for about 30 minutes. Thankfully, he has ~18 months of safety net and kids education taken care of for 3 years, something we’ve discussed way too often.
He’s really good at his work. But one thing he said stayed with me:
“I’d rather earn ₹12L and take the rest as benefits… I just don’t want to pay tax.”

@Simon_Ingari “I’m doing great, excited to be here and learn more about the role.”

- Software Engineering
- Data Science
- Product Management
- UI/UX Design
- DevOps & Cloud
- Quality Assurance (QA)
And this is what Claude concluded

@caraksha103 Lowkey true
Busy gives you momentum, idle just drains your energy
Do you think burnout comes more from overload or lack of purpose?
