@iamlabyrinth_ @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick Whats funny is that you prots dont even see how your logic should imply all christians from praying for each other. If 1 Tim 2:5 means what you think it means, then you shouldnt be even sharing the gospel let alone praying for someone, because thats a form of mediating in itself

@NewNormalTube @CDLDno @oliverburdick Yes, there’s only one mediator and that’s Jesus Christ. Mary is not needed, but many Catholics enjoy gaslighting, using denialism and selective memory to bypass their contradictory arguments, and proceed to defend that Mary is not part of it while venerating effigies of her.

@iamlabyrinth_ @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick How does that quote make mary as if she is a divine being? “Guide you to christ?” Thats something only a divine being or equal to christ can do? Your thinking of this is irrationally exaggerating

@iamlabyrinth_ @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick No they wouldnt.. she has been called “our lady” and other honorary titles for hundreds of years before your specific denomination was started. There isnt anything difficult saying “our lord jesus christ” but there isnt anything wrong with giving honorary titles to others either

@CDLDno @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick An average believer in Christ that centers Christ above any human, will be confused by the choice of words/terminology used to describe her as “Our Lady”. What’s so difficult about saying “Our God” or “Our Lord Jesus Christ”. You literally doubled down by your wording.

@iamlabyrinth_ @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick But we dont see Mary as a direct pathway to God though. So here you are with your invalid assumptions.. and your reasoning doesnt really show a difference other than “they are on earth”. Regardless of the bible not teaching that intercession is limited to those on earth.

@CDLDno @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick I’ve reemphasized countless times the difference between non-Catholics congregating and assembling together to pray versus Catholics who see Mary as a direct pathway to God. It’s not a matter of lacking trust in Jesus, but utilizing scripture on how to use prayer effectively.

@NewNormalTube @iamlabyrinth_ @oliverburdick Mary isnt needed in catholic view. And by what you said here, this reasoning would also go for asking others for prayers or you praying for someone else. Why are you doing so, dont they have direct access to God as well? Is he not enough?

@iamlabyrinth_ @CDLDno @oliverburdick Totally unnecessary according to Scripture. We have direct access to Living Water, Jesus Christ, the One who hears all prayers but even that is not good enough apparently, Mary is also needed in Catholics view. This is unscriptural. There is only one mediator.

@iamlabyrinth_ @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick Mary being divine is not catholic doctrine. If some random catholic casually use exaggerated language online, that does not equal official doctrine. Our lady is an honorary title.. you’re assuming the presence of an image automatically means the image is being worshipped.

@CDLDno @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick I’m attesting to empirical scenarios I’ve visually observed of people praying to effigies of Mary and revering her as “divine” or “Our Lady”. If them praying to an effigy of Mary isn’t vigorously, corroborative proof of idolatry, then why do they do it?

@iamlabyrinth_ @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick Btw, the Rosary is our modern day psalms.. there are 150 beads like there are 150 psalms. The 5 decades resemble the 5 stones david took. There are themes as well.. and its decided to look like a sling, which is what david used.

@CDLDno @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick Rosaries, sacraments, veneration of Mary are pervasive practices perpetuated in Catholic communities. I’m not drawing invalid conclusions, but judging it based on a myriad of accounts of videos & photos showcasing Catholics praying to effigies of Mary. How is this biblical?

@CDLDno @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick I read Revelation 8:5 but don’t understand the correlation with intercession in Catholic/Orthodox theological frameworks. By this example you set, if Jesus gave us the privilege to ask for people in heaven for prayer, then why revere or trust Jesus?

@iamlabyrinth_ @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick no, its the opposite. Jesus is the reason why we are able to have the privilege of asking christians that are in heaven with him for prayers. We are not limited to those here. But again, as i asked, read Rev 8:5 and the paravle of the richman

@CDLDno @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick We are most definitely all one in Christ, this is true, no doubt about that. Howbeit, we are talking about finite, deceased, mortal humans being relied on to pray for eternal salvation. They do not hear our prayers. By praying to them, it would render Jesus’s crucifix pointless.

@iamlabyrinth_ @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick But that is the problem, you assume we need Mary to have direct communication with God. We dont. You are the only one drawing these invalid reasons as to why we ask Mary or whoever’s up there to intercede… You are aware that we do the sign of the cross before and after?

@CDLDno @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick It is not irrational assumptions, but logical observations of conceptual frameworks that are errant and restricted to insidious conclusions. Needing a person to have exact, direct communication with God is not the same as using someone to pray together to God.

@iamlabyrinth_ @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick Yes, exactly. askingmary or whoever saint for prayers isn’t relying on them to connect to God. Its utilizing their faith. Look at the 1st Miracle, didnt Jesus decline at first until Mary asked?

@CDLDno @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick Praying for others is not relying on them to connect directly to the Father as if they are a high-ranking angel. It’s to utilize your faith as a means of direct communication to Father. I feel that most people use this to over simply how praying for others is intercession.

@iamlabyrinth_ @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick But in christian traditon (not just catholic, but orthodox as well). We are all one body in christ and death doesn’t cut us off because christ defeated it. Also, we are able to ask more than one saint for intercession, we dont just rely on Mary.

@CDLDno @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick In Protestant church tradition, it is a casually and ethically acceptable practice of praying for others in need. Those who asks for prayers aren’t relying on the person to intercede to Jesus. As it’s not one individual person, but many directly praying.

@iamlabyrinth_ @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick But again, prayer is a spiritual act. Its not your physical body that connects to God, its your spirit. And no, you are making assumptions. Read Rev 8:5 also, read the parable of the richman.. who is the richman talking to and what is he asking?

@CDLDno @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick They are dead in a material sense, as they’ve risen and ascended to heaven. As they ascend, they disconnect from physical body to a metaphysical form. During this prolific process, we don’t have any abilities to intercede on earthly matters. Only Jesus can hear our prayers.

@iamlabyrinth_ @NarniaNitro @SroIhm @_RyanIndustries @oliverburdick By your logic, asking any Christian on earth to pray for you would also imply God isn’t omniscient — because you involved another person in prayer. The idea of intercession is not about God lacking knowledge, but about participation in prayer within the body of Christ.

@NarniaNitro @SroIhm @CDLDno @_RyanIndustries @oliverburdick Why is intercessory prayer through Mary to tangibly reach the Father in Heaven such a vocal response with Catholics? Do Catholics not see that if you need Mary to intercede for your prayers to get to the Father, then by your own admission, God the Father is not omniscient?

@iamlabyrinth_ @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick Calling them dead is rejecting John 3:16.. it is an indirect denial of Jesus’ conquering death. The intercession isnt different because praying is a spiritual act not physical. No one is treating Mary as divine as christ nor is she a proponent for reaching the father.

@CDLDno @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick This form of intercession is different from intercession with “the dead” or “Mother Mary” as the proponent for reaching God the Father. Whether you want to admit it or not, Catholics treat Mary as divine as Christ. Other believers who pray for other Christ-followers do not.

@iamlabyrinth_ @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick Your response can also be said with anybody praying for someone else. In whatever church you are from, do people there pray for others? If so, why? You think they can reach christ and you cant? If they can, then whats the purpose of praying to God?

@CDLDno @NewNormalTube @oliverburdick That’s the difference between Catholic doctrine and many Protestant beliefs. We, as believers, do not see ourselves as stewards that can reach Christ. Catholics see that Mary CAN and WILL reach Christ. If Mary can reach Christ, then what’s the purpose of praying to God?

@CDLDno @annie_olss17596 @oliverburdick We know that Jesus is alive in Heaven, because Scripture teaches us so. Many speculate that Elijah was taken to Heaven alive and may still be so. Similar speculation surrounds Enoch, but with less scripture in support. Everybody else, dead. Just not eternally dead.
