@CapitulationUK @PersonMcPe5498 @Landeur I've made no reference to anyone gaming the system. Just those who own a million pounds worth of property, but live off the state I doubt that anyone who never "paid in" owns a million pounds worth of property, unless they're literally criminals

@HyboreanCat @PersonMcPe5498 @Landeur Currently if both are legal then it's wrong. If you're talking about how best to game the system and what's wrong and needs fixing then honestly I wouldn't start with pensioners and people paying into the system. Lets FIRST focus on those taking out of it and never paying in.

@CapitulationUK @PersonMcPe5498 @Landeur I'm talking about disabled people who buy a house that's now worth a million pounds, then live off the state In the same way that state pensioners buy a house that's now worth a million pounds, then live off the state

@Tinebobagain My father said the same thing (not that he needed to) but then he's always harassing us to find out when we are going to them or them to us. Or when they are staying over with them. A 5hr round trip. Quite funny really.

If my postman is English, I always get my post. If my postman is foreign, there is about a 50/50 chance it gets delivered to the wrong address. Very frustrating.

@cryptoxcappy @yvessirae So you'd sign a pre-nup? Also I'm not sure how a man wanting a trad wife is taking advantage of a women who wants the same just because she's from a different country, but perhaps you're a tad racist and possibly the problem...

@CapitulationUK @yvessirae we were never interested in alimony and kind of glad disgusting creeps aren’t focusing on us but unfortunately taking advantage of the women overseas who still haven’t realized how repulsive men like you are.

Men are lonely because they're insufferable to be around. For one of the the first times in history. women don't need men for any material security. While there is still social pressure, women are only seeking romantic relationships with men for the emotional enrichment those men would bring to their lives. We no longer need men, they are competing solely on the basis of their character, and they're failing. That is their fault. Not women's and not feminisms.

@HyboreanCat @PersonMcPe5498 @Landeur If it's their money of course. If they bought it under a right to buy scheme and it's gone ballistic then no, the state should add the same % ownership of it that they got the discount at to be taken at probate. Because they are now a ward of the state.

@SahilBloom I agree. But reality check: What I enjoy doing doesn't pay nearly as well as what I do to earn money. if it wasn't still dossing around in my 20's rather than being the provider then I'd be much happier. But I'm working to setup my family for life. No one cares about burnout.

I'm increasingly convinced that burnout doesn't come from working long hours or weekends. The people I know who burned out were the ones who were really bored with their work, not the ones who worked the most hours. Burnout comes from working on things that don't energize you.

@RockyWasYer @miriam_cates So refund my NI that I paid into the scheme under false pretences. Do that and I totally have no problem with what you suggest. Beause it's reasonable. But without that refund, it simply isn't. Its breaking a contract.

Opponents of non-means tested state pension claim that those who paid tax during their working lives are entitled to this state handout. But by that logic, wealthy working age taxpayers should be allowed to claim Universal Credit. The welfare state is based on high earners paying a lot of tax while not being entitled to benefits. Why should this only apply to under the 67s?
Miriam Cates@miriam_cates

“Reform’s commitment to keep the triple lock is the final nail in the coffin for the hope of pension reform from the Right. Britain’s young people are now condemned to pay through the nose for the retirement of the wealthiest generation in history.” ✍️👇 conservativehome.com/2026/04/08/mir…

"CURFEW FOR MEN!" University of Oxford Vice Dean and Professor of Law Jonathan Herring argues state must impose curfew on all men to protect women. His article was published in a feminist journal (DOI below). This guy is a feminist. Feminism is anti-male. Reject feminism! When will men in the UK stand up?! The abstract reads: "This article explores the case for a right to a male curfew. It argues the epidemic of male violence and harassment against women in public spaces is a major breach of women’s human rights. This generates an obligation on the state to protect women. The article substantiates that claim and explains why a male curfew would be a reasonable way for the state to fulfil its obligations and is therefore required unless an alternative can be found."

@HyboreanCat @PersonMcPe5498 @Landeur Strawman argument: "pensions are just another benefit" If someone is dependant on the state because they cannot look after themselves eg: job shy benefits, then yes, they should reduce the burden But if you PAID into a system promising something at the end, it's quite different

@PersonMcPe5498 @Landeur Paper millionaire due to the current house market value. So you want them to do what exactly? Downside from the community they've been a part of for maybe 30-40yrs so they can release equity in their house, pay stamp duty and other costs? Or just wait till the IHT kicks in?

@RockyWasYer @miriam_cates Words like "Eligibility" and "qualifying years on your National Insurance record" kind of suggest otherwise unless you're purposely being disingenuous. And again, for the third time; because I'm entitled to it under the rules. Your opinion on my need is irrelevant. It's the law

@EssexPR I remember when I made the choice of stop carrying my leatherman or if caught with it and my "reasonble reason" of it being a tool I use daily being at the mercy of a judge wanting to make an example of a middle class guy. Meanwhile stabbings have increased....

No you will not, because you aren’t listening to people that know what they’re talking about. Your softly softly approach is laughed at and mocked by the young and by the gangsters. There’s no deterrent. Only mandatory sentences, increased stop and search, an aggressive school education programme and a media blitz campaign will drive down knife carrying.
Home Office@ukhomeoffice

We will halve knife crime within a decade. Knife crime hotspots will see a surge in police patrols, knife arches and Live Facial Recognition, to catch violent criminals.
