@CodeBoom We're not sure if it's because it's later in the day or if the UK sunshine has got to us, but we're stuck 🤷
Can we have a clue please? 😊

Three months ago I launched @hacktivateio: a cybersecurity challenge site with 250+ "capture the flag" tests for students aged 11-21. Since then 20,000 solutions have been posted, and the pace doubles every week 🤯 Here's what one teacher says about it. hacktivate.io

So @amoamoamo has one of the slickest onboarding experiences around, but then crashes in flames with this dialog that forces you to share all your contacts. I’d happily invite specific people, but it’s deeply wrong for me to share everyone’s details without permission. TTFN!

@MiniGirlGeek Argh I feel your pain. So frustrating to see the thick red line every time! Hope it bogs off soon.

@MolloyLaurence @ForrisHilier I think the problem with some bacteria is that you can kill the bacteria itself, but it produces spores which can endure boiling etc. and then once conditions become favourable again the spores reactivate and you’re in the 💩
English

@ForrisHilier @CodeBoom IFAIUI, alcohol and acid can slow / stop development of botulism. Boiling can kill it. Presumably why heat is an important part of the canning process.
Oil produces an anaerobic environment that botulism loves. It loves low air and low acid environments and thrives at room temp.
English

@MolloyLaurence Indeed. A lot of the training I did was obvious common sense, but the specific bits about different types of bacteria were really interesting 🦠
English

@CodeBoom Aye... I switched from olive oil to sherry (alcohol content > 5%) for my fridge jar of chopped garlic, chilli & ginger when I read about the botulism risk of garlic in oil.

@doismellburning I ended up reading this page - it’s wild! In 2013 ASOS ended up with a batch of belts studded with Cobalt-60 😳 en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_c…

@CodeBoom During radiotherapy I managed to read *three* different stories where someone got irradiated in space, and well, you can guess how it went for them…!
(It was fine, but like, y’know…?)
