Oksana Luk you have stolen my heart. I am very proud to call you my fellow American citizen. Hold on to your dreams. They can come true.
I was the youngest of seven siblings that lived in a very small town. My father made a modest living but we were not poor and our home was filled with love.
There were only 27 kids in my high school’s graduating class in 1959. I graduated, served three years in the U. S. Army with a two year deployment in Germany and 90 days temporary duty in Turkey. When I returned home I soon married and we had a daughter. I worked my way through undergraduate school and then moved to the state capital where I worked my way through law school. I had the GI Bill helping me but I had to work full time to support my family.
I went to work for an insurance company and stayed there 45 years. I was a successful executive and I loved my job. Retired now for about 10 years and living a good life with my bride of 60 years. See, the American dream can happen.
