When this is over, the western part of NATO will never be the same. Spain, England, France and Italy have sold us out, as they too often have a history of doing. Eastern European nations are the heart of NATO. They spend money on defense, know how to fight and love the US. France particularly deserves fault and blame. From supporting China and Russia at the UN to denying Americans overflight rights, they’re doing what they’ve always done - showing weakness, while cutting deals with terrorists. (The reason the US has a Marine Corps and Navy is unlike France, we refused to pay a ransom to the Barbary Pirates. France is always happy to cut a deal.) Wars have unintended consequences as nations show their true colors. NATO will never be the same, and Western European weakness and acquiescence is the cause.

I had one very bad experience entering the Persian Gulf. We were awaken by the ship’s 1MC to get to GQ. We had 5 “Go-Fast” heading to us at a very high rate of speed. My job on the ship’s Forecastle was as a “Phone Talker” alongside my .50 Cal Gunner…I got to my post and guess what? My gunner was a no-show! So my LT cocks the .50 Cal twice and tells me, “Brian, just point and shoot, every other round is a tracer so no worries. You’re gonna hit something”. I was in full “Battle Dress”, had the phones around my neck along with the big binoculars and my 2 thumbs on the trigger! We could hear the Captain say, “Guys. If they get within 1,500yds, we’ll light these guys up when I say, ‘Batteries Release’!” I was the first one to say, “Forecastle Copies”, and rest followed immediately afterwards with their quick replies. At 1,600yds they turned parallel to out position then turned back to Iran 🇮🇷 after we blew the ships 🚢 horn and fired a couple of pencil flares. After that was all over and we secured from GQ, I went to my group and asked if anyone had a cigarette 🚬. My buddies said, “Doc, you don’t smoke 🚭”…To which I replied, “I do now”! That was my last smoke! Several times before this event I passed through the Straight of Hormuz in my Naval Career with nothing happening. It was just my luck that I got assigned to this task, and my gunner didn’t show up!

❌HOW CAN ANYONE SAY IRAN IS NOT A THREAT?❌ If we don’t put a STOP ✋🏼 to the Iranian regime now…they will only grow stronger and then today’s youth will have to deal with WAY WORSE, down the road. Praying that our service members stay safe and that the mission is completed soon. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙
