We’re thrilled to announce that Spectrum (@getspectrum @chartercom) has awarded the Public Housing Community Fund a $30,000 Spectrum Digital Education Grant to support our NYCHA Youth Tech Corps: Intergenerational Connections program! This funding will empower @NYCHA youth (ages 16-24) to work alongside adult resident leaders in Polo Grounds Houses (Harlem), Richmond Terrace (Staten Island), and Pomonok Houses (Queens)—helping bridge the digital divide through hands-on technology training, career exploration, and community impact. Thanks to Spectrum’s continued support (now totaling $55,000 over two years), we’re providing laptops, stipends, and resources to participants while fostering meaningful intergenerational connections. A huge thank you to Spectrum for investing in NYCHA communities and helping us build a more equitable, connected future! It’s a wrap at New York City Housing Authority (@NYCHA) Polo Grounds Towers for our 7th #NYCHA Youth Tech Corps cohort! 👏🏼👏🏼 NYCHA Youth Tech, designed by Soulfuls Synergy, LLC, to equip young NYCHA residents with essential digital skills to support their career growth and bridge the #digitaldivide while creating a safe place to create #intergenerational connections. We covered everything from Google Suite—creating emails, managing spreadsheets in Sheets, and crafting professional documents in Docs—to graphic design, resume preparation, and email etiquette. The goal was for these young participants to not only gain valuable knowledge but also to mentor and assist their resident adult leaders, sharing what they learned. This program has grown into so much more. It has become a space that unites generations, where the community learns together, supports one another, and grows collectively. It’s a place where young people and adults alike exchange knowledge, guide each other and build lasting connections. More than just tech training, NYCHA Youth Tech Corps has become a bridge between generations, fostering mentorship, empowerment, and opportunity. Many thanks to our funder, @GetSpectrum.
