The first time I heard the word deteriorate was from my father. I was 14 as at then. Apparently my average in Chemistry and Biology dropped from 80 something percent to 70 something. My dad asked “why are you deteriorating in your science subjects” I wrote the word in my vocabulary book. My dad really pressured me academically. There was no room for failure.
