Every AI hyperscaler is discovering the same thing. Compute isn't the constraint. Power is. You can't order megawatts like GPUs. The substation either has capacity or it doesn't. Bitcoin miners have spent a decade doing nothing but this. Hunting stranded energy nobody else could use and turning it into revenue. The market keeps framing AI and mining as competitors for the same electrons. The mechanics say something different. AI data centers need flexible load inside them to balance off-peak capacity and keep the site economical. The people who know where the power is were never the competition.
