⚡ 100,000 km in an EV: ₹7.19 Lakh Saved, 10 Tonnes CO₂ Offset & 476 Trees Planted In February 2021, I made a conscious decision to switch to electric mobility and brought home the Tata Nexon EV Prime XZ+. Back then, Faridabad had no public chargers, and range anxiety was very real. But I believed in the future. It was time to walk the talk. Fast forward to July 2025: ✅ 100,000 km driven ✅ ₹89,500 total charging cost ✅ ₹85,000 total service cost (including wire harness repair) ✅ 7,700 litres of petrol saved ✅ 10,000 kg of CO₂ emissions avoided ✅ 476 trees worth of carbon offset ✅ ₹7.19 lakh saved in fuel alone 🔋 Technical Summary Vehicle Tata : Nexon EV Prime XZ+ Battery Capacity : 30kWh Avg. 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝗜𝗧 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗵𝗶 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗺𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗩 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 Spent two incredibly enriching days at IIT Delhi as part of the Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) programme in Electric Vehicle Technology. The campus sessions were intellectually stimulating and deeply insightful filled with meaningful discussions around the complete EV ecosystem. 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀, 𝗰𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴-𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘀.. 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴. It was an honour to interact closely with 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘀 whose depth of knowledge and clarity of thought reinforce why 𝗜𝗜𝗧 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗵𝗶 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. Our conversations revolved not just around technology, but around the direction, scalability, and strategic importance of EV innovation for India’s future. Let it be digested that this is the highest total chased by India in T20 World Cup matches, and the highest score by an individual while chasing Sanju Samson’s 97 off 50 outshines Kohli. A player who suffered because of politics in the team, who was never given enough chances, and why you need a pure batsman with a calm head on his shoulders to anchor and be aggressive at the same time. I hope he doesn’t have to prove himself anymore and that his position is now cemented in the team. He embraced all his devotees with equal grace be it gods, sages, outcasts, or even Ravana. His divinity lay not in judgment, but in transcendence beyond labels. Today, let us shed our dual standards. Let us move beyond selective respect for people, cultures, and religions. Let us celebrate humanity in its entirety. May this Mahashivratri elevate our conscience to build a world where dignity is universal, where every being is equal, and where differences are not feared but honored. Republic Day 2026 India turns 77 as a Republic today. 1930: We observed Purna Swaraj. 1950: We adopted Constitution. 2026: Still waiting for citizens to show up. Our Constitution begins with: “We, the People of India…” but half the people behave like democracy is an event, not a responsibility. Everyone wants rights. Nobody wants duties. Everyone wants change. Nobody wants charge. Meanwhile, civic sense is extinct: We honk like it’s F1, litter like Earth is on payroll, drive like lanes are colonial oppression, queue like geometry is optional, and spit like it’s a national sport. And while we’re debating reels and narratives, the planet is coughing in PM2.5: vehicular exhaust, coal smoke, river toxins, construction dust, and government policy slow-cooking in committees. Climate doesn’t care for GDP or pride when it overheats, there’s no “Make in India,” only Bake in India. And fear, the most colonial relic of all. Fear of authority, fear of questioning, fear of speaking up. Reminder: You are not subjects of a king. The only supreme law here is the Constitution of India, and it literally encourages dissent. A Republic without questioning is a monarchy in cosplay. So on this Republic Day: Stop waiting for miracles. Stop outsourcing responsibility to WhatsApp. Vote. Question. Participate. Behave.
