@teedao @OgbonnaReigns The story is definitely fictional….. but if we are just reading the story plain it makes no sense to lay him off but yea I get you point as well.
English

@InvhestorD @OgbonnaReigns Of course, I would do the same. Why would anyone in their right senses decide that he wants to drive a car of over 50m to a place where he is been paid 380k monthly? What message is he trying to pass? What would be the effect on his employer's business, his colleuge, and others?
English

My brother got a well-paying job in 2019 and was earning ₦380,000 monthly. Through careful saving and smart financial decisions, he was able to buy himself a Mercedes-Benz GLE 43 AMG Coupe after two years. Instead of congratulating him, his manager became suspicious the very first day he drove the car to work. He was called into the manager's office and bombarded with questions about where he got the money, how he bought the car, and even who his father was. The manager found it difficult to believe that an employee earning less than him could afford such a luxury vehicle.

A lady is calling out Ilebaye for spoiling her bumbum 🤯🤯🤯
According to her, after Ilebaye came out of BBN, she got a bum filler that looked very good. Since they were friends and spent time together, she often complimented the result.
She said Ilebaye noticed she liked it and told her she paid ₦3.5 million to the nurse who did the procedure, then encouraged her to go there too.
The lady claims she eventually paid the nurse, who allegedly collected an extra ₦3 million from her. After the procedure, she started having health issues and reached out to Ilebaye for the nurse’s details so she could address the complications, but says Ilebaye did not respond.
She also alleged that after repeatedly trying to get answers, there was a dispute over the money she had paid. According to her, Ilebaye seized her car, and even after she refunded the ₦3.5 million, the car was not returned.
The lady said she later reported the matter to the police, leading to restrictions being placed on Ilebaye’s account. She also claims Ilebaye was invited by the police but did not honor the invitation.
She is now alleging that Ilebaye is asking her to withdraw the police case and have the account unlocked before any further action can be taken.
These are the lady’s claims, and Ilebaye has not publicly responded to them.

@teedao @OgbonnaReigns Where did he said he didn’t feel the need to be questioned? After the investigation and nothing was found why lay him off work or you didn’t see that part as wrong 😏?
English

@OgbonnaReigns This is the root cause of our problem in this country. When we feel we don't need to be questioned or don't owe anyone any explanation. How can you afford a car like this on 380k monthly? Stop putting out all this foolish narratives, let's make our country sane again

@ibeawuchi_emma @Riddwane @OfficialDSSNG @PoliceNG This is the problem I always have with you people on this X space. The Gov of Oyo State @seyimakinde is pushing his luck too far by his reckless way of spitting gibberish..
In one of his usual untutored and uncultured remarks, he claimed that @officialABAT opposed the creation of Amotekun in Lagos, whereas the same Tinubu, through his 2019 tweet as seen below 👇, openly condemned those against the establishment of Amotekun across the Southwest states called then ignorance of it's provisions.
You cannot continue making public statements without first allowing facts to guide your words. That reckless and incautious style of speaking is exactly what Governor Seyi Makinde continues to display.
I can vividly recall that during the Buhari administration, when the failure of state policing became obvious in tackling insecurity, Yoruba governors collectively insisted on the creation of Amotekun as an alternative , an initiative that enjoyed overwhelming support throughout the Southwest. There was hardly any serious opposition against it.
Even when the then Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, opposed the initiative, the late Governor of Ondo State, H.E. Rotimi Akeredolu of blessed memory, stood his ground firmly and insisted that there would be no turning back on the establishment of Amotekun, which eventually became operational.
Seyi Makinde is merely being reckless and unguided with his statements, nothing more.
Now, he has chosen to play politics with the lives of students and teachers held captive in Oyo State by attempting to shift attention away from his government’s failure to adequately secure the lives and properties of Oyo State indigenes.
Below 👇 is the 2019 tweet of now President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in support of the establishment of Amotekun.

VERYDARKMAN CONFUSES LOUD INSULTS FOR INTELLIGENCE — MOCKING ELDERS IS NOT BOLDNESS, IT IS A COLLAPSE OF PUBLIC DECENCY
By Tayo Mabeweje
The growing tendency in Nigeria’s online space to mistake volume for validity is becoming increasingly concerning. Social media has created a stage where whoever speaks the loudest often appears the most convincing, even when the content of their message lacks structure, restraint, or respect.
Recent attacks by Martins Vincent Otse against presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga have once again exposed the dangerous direction of Nigeria’s digital culture. While criticism of government officials is legitimate in a democracy, reducing disagreement to repeated insults and verbal abuse weakens the seriousness of any message being delivered.
Calling Bayo Onanuga “stupid,” “daft,” and mocking him publicly does not make an argument stronger. It only reflects a growing culture where insults are celebrated as intelligence and disrespect is mistaken for boldness. Public debate should challenge policies, decisions, and leadership performance—not descend into personal humiliation.
There is also a disturbing contradiction in the way many online influencers present themselves. They often claim to speak for justice, accountability, and societal progress, yet their methods are built around outrage, mockery, and emotional attacks. Activism without discipline quickly becomes noise, and noise without substance contributes nothing meaningful to national development.
It is important to remember that Bayo Onanuga is not just a political spokesman but also a veteran journalist and public communicator who has spent decades in Nigeria’s media and political space. People may disagree with his political views or his defense of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,GCFR, but disagreement should never become an excuse for public disrespect and repeated insults.
The larger issue is what this behavior is teaching younger Nigerians. Social media now rewards outrage more than reasoning. The louder the insult, the faster the trend. As a result, many young people are beginning to confuse emotional aggression with courage and verbal attacks with intelligence. This is a dangerous shift for any society that hopes to build a mature democratic culture.
Criticism remains necessary in every democracy. Nigerians have every right to question insecurity, economic hardship, governance failures, and public policy decisions. However, criticism loses moral authority when it abandons civility. Once arguments become centered on abuse rather than ideas, the quality of public discourse collapses.
Nigeria’s online environment urgently needs more responsibility and less performative outrage. Influence should not be measured by who can insult others the most or generate the loudest controversy. True influence should come from facts, discipline, intelligence, and the ability to engage difficult issues with maturity.
A society that glorifies insults as activism risks normalizing disrespect as culture. And when disrespect becomes culture, meaningful dialogue becomes impossible.
