I’ve taken down my bird feeder for the summer as @Natures_Voice said we should to avoid spreading disease through them & our little robin couple are pecking around in confusion where it used to be looking for it, it’s going to break my heart 🥺🥺😭😭 True stoicism from me today

There’s been a conspiracy of silence on the cost of biodiversity loss. Ecosystem breakdown is one of the gravest threats to our security. If we don’t invest in nature recovery now, we’ll pay many times over in food price spikes, flooding, and instability at home and abroad.

Nicola Thorpe: " How is your life impacted by illegal migration?" *I don't know because I just chill in my room most of the times. I don't pay taxes. I don't do anything like that* *We've come here seeing it and thought it's something good to do on a Saturday*

@greenbeltsal @BBCYork Not only are most of these new houses misplaced, there are better options HomesforEveryone.org, but they all look the same, orange, square, bleak with no community nor enough infrastructure. Depressing @RosieP4

I fail to understand why anyone ever calls for verges to be mown in the spring or how councils can allow it. How is THIS messy or unkempt? It is utterly beautiful, an incredible and a very much needed wildlife habitat.

MASSIVE: Trump Admin insider trading happened AGAIN... Traders placed $430m bet on oil decline in the 15 minutes before trump said he'd extend the Iran ceasefire on Tuesday. This is the THIRD time this month. Same pattern, over and over. Massive trades placed hours before Trump drops a bombshell. Iran. Tariffs. Policy reversals. Absolutely insane.

Last summer this was a beautiful meadow, now look. As I took this pic, a rabbit ran out from the hedgerow. He saw all that and stopped, then looked at us as if to say ‘wtf?’ before disappearing back into the thicket. It breaks my heart and sickens me, literally sickens me.

They keep saying migrants are the reason you cannot get a home. Sit with the numbers for a second. There are 242,000 people in England facing the worst forms of homelessness. Around 32,000 asylum seekers are in hotels. That is the figure they want you to picture. That is the image they repeat. Now look at what they leave out. There are 998,000 empty homes in England. Over 265,000 have been sitting empty long term. Entire streets. Entire blocks. Locked up while people are told there is no space. Then there is land. Not green fields. Not the last bits of nature left around towns. Brownfield land. Former industrial sites. Places already built on and abandoned. Reports show almost 1.5 million homes could be built there. So the truth is uncomfortable for them. This is not a shortage created by migrants. It is a system that leaves homes empty while people sleep in temporary accommodation. It is a choice to ignore brownfield land while threatening green space. It is a failure of policy not an invasion of people. The numbers do not support the story they are selling. Every person in temporary housing and every asylum seeker in a hotel could be housed without touching a single piece of greenbelt. The capacity already exists. The land already exists. The homes already exist. Blaming migrants is easier. It is louder. It gets headlines. Fixing the system would require actually doing the work.

@Protect_Wldlife Some Ppl commit acts that are pure evil who in their right minds even on your worst day would come up with ‘shredding male chicks alive/gassing them’ there’s something distinctly disturbing about human psychi that doesn’t value life itself but also ends it in such horrific ways

In 2022 Germany made a decision that would save millions of lives every single year. For a long time, most people never saw this part of the egg industry. Male chicks are born, but they cannot lay eggs. They are also not raised for meat. So within hours of hatching, they were killed. Many were shredded alive. Others were gassed. It happened behind closed doors, but it was routine. Now that has changed. Millions of chicks who once had no chance at all will now be spared that fate. That is millions of lives that will not begin and end in fear on the same day. Credit: Vegan Fields.

The grassland these houses were built on had the highest density of wild orchids I have ever seen. I didn't dare digging one out coz conservation. One day I came past and all the vegetation had been erased.

$580,000,000 in oil futures moved 16 minutes before Trump announced a pause in Iran strikes. Not after. Before. The BBC just documented five separate instances of massive, suspiciously timed trades preceding Trump’s biggest market-moving announcements — oil futures, the tariff pause, Maduro’s capture, Iran ceasefire bets. The platforms where anonymous accounts cashed in? Polymarket and Kalshi. Donald Trump Jr. sits on Polymarket’s advisory board and is a strategic advisor to Kalshi. There’s even a law against this. The STOCK Act (2012) explicitly covers executive branch officials. Zero prosecutions in 14 years. Oh, and the DOJ unit created after Watergate to prosecute exactly this kind of corruption? Trump cut it from 36 lawyers to 2 and stripped its authority to file new cases.

The White House is completely silent as BBC confirms a consistent pattern of massive financial spikes occurring just minutes before Donald Trump makes market moving announcements. The administration is facing severe allegations of illegally profiteering off inside knowledge.

The Food Standards Agency @WeAreFSA has admitted, in writing, to us, that their slaughterhouse inspection and regulatory system completely fails to police the religious slaughter limits. The FSA has admitted that they are not enforcing the existing law. The FSA is essentially admitting that the religious exemption is being abused and that they are not enforcing humane slaughter rules. This is a highly significant admission from a legal point of view.

It's one thing to hear about animal testing, which we tolerate, but when you see and hear it—the little paws pleading for help, the anguish cries of being force fed, the muffled whimpers of suffocation—it shames the country that we still do this. And all for *fat jabs*.😔 Ban it.
Peter Egan@PeterEgan6

.@rickygervais No matter how much we protest & expose the deep cruelty in animal testing it is ignored & just carries on despite the 90% failure rate. Does the UK really care? @HouseofCommons @LabourDefra clearly doesn’t! Pictured: The monkeys force-fed to test fat jabs mol.im/a/15745129 via @DailyMail
