Here to enjoy discussing what interests me, I'll be polite if you are. Related to nobility on my mum's side & royalty through marriage so royalist all the way.

His Majesty’s address to the United States Congress has drawn acclaim from around the world: a reminder that bilateralism and democracy have underpinned the post-war consensus that has preserved peace and freedom for generations. Our King is a consummate diplomat.

I hope all those who think Charles isn't a Christian take a moment to reflect on his words. Just because he didn't put out an Easter message (and it's not required or protocol that he does) doesn't mean he doesn't value his faith nor is he becoming a Muslim.

KING CHARLES III: “The Christian faith is a firm anchor and daily inspiration that guides us not only personally…but together as members of our community.”

What have the British ever done for us? A 77 year-old British monarch is receiving a raptuous reception in the US. He's been mobbed at garden parties and received standing ovations from both houses of Congress. This is not just curiosity and intrigue. It's respect and recognition of Britain's importance and the stability of its monarchical system. And more broadly, it's recognition of all Britain has given the world. Not all perfect of course, but let's start with parliamentary democracy, common law, the English language, the industrial evolution, the laws of gravity and the theory of evolution, penicillin, computers and football, cricket, golf and tennis. Oh, and Shakespeare and The Beatles.

It was brilliant to see the fantastic work taking place at Harlem Grown, a flourishing network of urban farms supporting children and families in Upper Manhattan.   Starting out as one neglected community garden which was transformed into a thriving space, Harlem Grown has developed into a network of fourteen sites across Upper Manhattan, delivering programmes that integrate hands-on sustainable agricultural education with after-school activities, mentorship, and wider community support across New York City.   Partnering with local schools and organisations, the initiative creates safe, nurturing spaces for young people and families.

King Charles is marvellous. I have enjoyed greatly blocking and dealing with the angry trolls this morning. Who are driven insane by his intelligence.

⚡️👍🇬🇧 King Charles didn’t need to raise his voice. Standing in Congress, he quietly reminded Trump’s America what real leadership looks like: He called out executive overreach. He defended NATO from Trump’s claims that allies “were never there.” He stood with Ukraine while Trump and Vance flirt with appeasing Moscow. This is soft power with a backbone. Never been more proud that this man is our sovereign. God save the King. 👑

In New York today, The King and Queen have paid their respects at the 9/11 Memorial.   During their time at the site, Their Majesties honoured the lives that were lost during the attacks, and recognised the courage of the men and women involved in the rescue efforts.   This year marks the 25th anniversary of the attacks.

King Charles has been a triumph on this US trip. His speeches yesterday were the most brilliant act of much-needed diplomacy that I can remember in a long time. He was charming, funny, courageous, and reminded everyone why the Monarchy remains one of Britain’s greatest assets.

🚨BREAKING: KING CHARLES REFUSES TO MEET EPSTEIN SURVIVORS. After bringing them to Capitol Hill, Ro Khanna says: “They were denied justice for decades.” “Just because you’re a royal or powerful doesn’t give you license to abuse young girls.” Disgraceful.

King Charles US visit has been far more effective than many anticipated. The decision to gift Donald Trump the “Trump bell” from HMS Trump was a masterstroke. Symbolic, personal, and diplomatically astute. State visits often blur into insignificance, but this one feels different. I feel like the world has underestimated King Charles diplomatic ability.

King Charles made surprise subtle mention of his son Prince William and grandson Prince George at State Dinner. The King gave a poignant and at times hilarious speech that also referenced William and George. In the King’s Speech at the White House in Washington DC, he warmly highlighted his family while joining a meaningful connection with the United States. He added that his "family's history remains reflected in your maps, which read rather like our Christmas card list across the ages – North and South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and the cities of Charleston (a particular favourite of mine, obviously), Georgetown (and, for that matter, Georgia),  Annapolis, and (further favourites) Prince William County and Williamsburg." People, listen up — I need you to truly understand whatHis Majesty did here. His focus is squarely on the future of the Royal Family, and that future is William and George. I have every confidence he is doing what needs to be done behind the scenes.

@RepTimKennedy I bet you're fun at parties. Be grateful you're being visited by an actual King, who will toddle off back to a country who wants him (well the majority do), and be more concerned for the one who wants to be king in all but name.
