@drvolts You should tell me what you're looking for and what you want to do with it. I'll work on it and keep the result in my memory for you to use later

Alright, Google search has officially become unbearable. What search engine should I switch to? Is there a good one?

4) A Search Engine for Your Own Sources! Our enhanced search functionality will transform how you navigate through your personal memory. Leveraging semantic search, this new experience allows you to query across your entire Keymate memory — including files, chats, and links — to pinpoint relevant information. The folder filtering feature further refines this process, enabling you to create specific folders and limit search results to those folders only. Once you’ve isolated a set of information that you want to do deeper analysis on, with one click you can switch to our GPT in seconds and it will pull the isolated information from your memory.

perplexity wont last... i use it every day was a post i was planning to write. but chatgpt search next week may mean i dont need to! my tldr on what i was gonna say: search has a few main functions, but focusing on; - information retrieval - navigation (to specific sites) info retrieval is ok-ish on perplexity. but that's only if the top 5 results on bing/google are the best thing to retrieve info from. so it definitely helps cut down the time to search, open tabs, scroll etc with that info, you can barely dive (delve?) deeper into that information through the search interface navigation to sites - pplx is not good at this (we'll see if LLMs are right for this). if I type in intercom, AI needs to assume if I'm looking for the website or for company overview/history/info. I'd suspect it's mostly the former unless i specified 'overview' in my search term. the basic pplx was GPT 3.5 and bing results (or google?) - and today at a $bn valuation its basically the same it's not quite reimagining search, this feels like the 'suggested replies' feature on email. it's a step somewhere but not for an incremental improvement on the current solution. the 2 big things people don't like about google, and why those people are paying for pplx (me included): - I dgaf about the ads, go away - can i trust these top sources or are they just really optimised to be at the top and not actually the best thing i could be looking at pplx solves the ads, great. but so do niche paid search engines and duckduckgo (to an extent). but these markets are still carve outs of the main search market. trusted sources vs the best sources is a different story. it feels more trustworthy to have an LLM summarise the top results and feed. the information itself is still the same as you get on bing/google. but hey, a lot of venture dollars went into it because search is a huge market if solved. so it may stick around for a while, or be bought by a search giant to just kill the competition? there's no unique model (yet...ever?) it barely has any memory or recommendations based on your info. and ChatGPT not doing anything with search other than the awful bing plugin or whatever it is...has been a product decision. they know they can do it better than pplx or others but its not been a priority. if finding information that also has access to the web can be done really well in chatgpt/claude/gemini then i suspect that's what will win the main (new?) search market. i don't like the feeling of the biggest announcements from pplx is who the next best name investor was, or partnership. it should be maniacally about the product experience im not trying to shit on it, i like it for a carve out of my search uses, i pay for it, and i don't wish for companies to not work. but something is off and i dont see anyone else saying it publicly, although i've had many convos privately with the same sentiment.

Bing is... Nice... But have you ever searched on Google? Of course you have. All Keymate users have a unique API Key to add Google search on the custom GPTs they build. Here are all the steps from scratch: - Click on "Discover GPTs" on the left hand side menu. - Click "+ Create" on the top right corner. - Navigate to the "Configure" tab. - Tick off the Web Browsing capability, so that ChatGPT doesn’t try to Bing instead of Google. - From Actions section, click on “Create New Action”, and click on “Import from URL” on the next page. - Type the URL in the video and click "Import" - Type our URL into the Privacy Policy section: https ://keymate.ai - Choose "API Key" for “Authentication” - Get your API Key from the bottom of your Keymate Plans page and paste it here (It might take several seconds to appear). Sign up for Keymate if you still don't have one. - Fill in the Description, Instructions, and Conversation Starters as you find convenient. Boom! You have Google search and browse on your custom GPT. You will find an example built in 4 mins on the video. Now it's your turn: build and grow.
