I can’t quite believe Senior Tories are still trying to link inflation to public sector pay. It’s complete boll****. If a private sector company increases its wages yes - that goes directly into the cost of making that product or service and that might end up increasing the price. But that’s not the case with public sector workers such as education and healthcare which are free at the point of use - that means consumers do not pay for them directly and so they do not affect the inflation statistics. UK news shows need to call them out on this rubbished & debunked argument which they used to shaft public sector workers on pay when they were in office

Worth noting that @RobertJenrick was a member of the government which defunded every part of the criminal justice system, including prisons, and ignored years of warnings that the prisons were close to overflowing. Any criminals “let off” have been let off by his government.
