I predicted Joe Biden would drop out and I'm predicting Trump is stepping down before his term is up. Definitely, before the midterm but possibly a lot sooner if JD Vance is "successful" in Pakistan this weekend. Vance could've never gotten to the White House on his own. The same way Kamala couldn't. Trump will step down for health reasons. There's nothing wrong with the man and he says the wild things he does because that's the character he's playing. I don't know who's in charge but it ain't these people. And don't tell me Netanyahu either. Enjoy the show.

@Tanner_HL @mlycan12 Love this idea (from a fan/family perspective, my niece plays) - would love coaches thoughts here. Was thinking, increase the cap, but that doesn’t solve the full problem. But 5th yr not counting against the cap makes it a budget choice for programs as opposed to roster math

@mlycan12 What if they didn't count 5th year players against roster caps?

If a universal 5th year becomes reality, women’s soccer will be hit especially hard--it presents more than a coaching problem, it's a math problem. The current 28-player cap already gives women’s soccer very little room to absorb even the occasional redshirt year; extending that same possibility to every athlete would turn an existing strain into a routine roster problem The 28 cap--or 2.5x number of field players, has always seemed arbitrary and disproportionate compared to: Basketball: 15 for 5 = 3x Women’s lacrosse: 38 for 12 = 3.17x Men’s lacrosse: 48 for 10 = 4.8x Now do the math: 28 ÷ 4 classes = 7 per class 28 ÷ 5 years = 5.6 per class You cannot create a system that presents a possiblity of every athlete occupying a roster spot for five years while still capping women’s soccer at 28 and expect the result to be stable. The math guarantees compression. And when rosters compress, student-athletes pay the price — through cuts, lost opportunities, and de-committed players. Remember the cuts and chaos that followed when roster limits were first imposed after the NCAA settlement? In women’s soccer, a universal 5th year would risk making that same kind of roster compression not an isolated event, but a recurring reality under our current roster cap. #MathProblem #PutTheAthletesFirst

Congress has spent the better part of half a decade trying to pass a framework to onshore the future of finance. It is time for @BankingGOP to hold a markup and send the CLARITY Act to President Trump’s desk. Senate time is precious, and now is the time to act.

The U.S. Treasury Secretary is weighing in on the push to pass crypto market structure legislation in a new @WSJ op-ed. @SecScottBessent framed it as a national priority, saying “economic security is national security,” and argued the Clarity Act is the cornerstone to bringing long-awaited rules of the road to crypto markets. He also warned that time is of the essence. “Senate floor time is scarce, and now is the time to act,” he said. “The promise of GENIUS can’t be realized without Clarity’s support.” Link below ⬇️

@dannykanell @DustyDvoracek on this next segment on the ncaa ruling for 5 in 5, what’s the impact on roster caps. Shoving five grad years in four college classes seems problematic

@StockTalks21 If they force five years into four classes, then roster caps need to expand or we face chaos for these upcoming classes that will leave kids scrambling to find a home once they are decommitted

Why are we overthinking it? - 4 years of playing eligibility - 1 year can be granted via redshirt/medical - 1 time free transfer; second time you lose a year of eligibility.
Ross Dellenger@RossDellenger

The NCAA is exploring a significant change to its eligibility rule, sources tell @YahooSports. The proposal creates an age-based standard: Athletes would have 5 years of eligibility from their 19th birthday or HS graduation. No redshirts or waivers. bit.ly/3POqo2D

Total disaster with roster caps. If you have say, 6 high impact seniors that decide to stay for 5th year, but you already had ) freshmen committed to replace them…with roster cap, those freshmen are just cut? Have to slow roll this to not impact 2026 and 2027 recruits

It’s a LOT different. One of the hardest things about the 28 mandated roster is accounting for people who might be taking a fifth year that got injured, etc. Now every single person will have that “option“. So it’s impossible to know who is going to want to stay for a fifth year and it will just result in many programs just wholesale cutting a lot more kids to stay under the cap.

So the same folks that are limiting how many players we can recruit are now telling us we have to manage recruiting 5 years worth of eligibility within 4 years of classes while predicting everyone’s future and staying within the roster cap. This makes my head hurt. #FromBadToWorse #WhatIsGoingOn #BringCommonSenseBack #https://sports.yahoo.com/college-football/article/ncaa-proposing-major-changes-to-eligibility-rules-including-age-limits-121509806.html

Really illuminating quote from Oregon QB coach Koa Ka’ai about the mental make up they look for in a QB: “I ask them a question like this all the time. ‘Hey do you like chocolate ice cream or vanilla ice cream?’ The moment a kid pauses, I don’t really want that kid because you need to have some kind of conviction… If you sit there and say, ‘Oh coach, I don’t know’… What is this kid going to do on third down in front of 110,000? He’s probably going to think about it more than he should.”
