Most AI 3D generators just output lumpy meshes. WebCAD generates mathematical surfaces. I taught CAD Genie how to use advanced operations: Revolve: "Make a wine glass" (Profile + Axis) Loft: "Make a bottle" (Multi-plane profiles + Guide) It doesn't guess pixels. That they even release a model. There is a good chance they continuously keep it inhouse since they are chasing the tails of the major western labs. The perpetually almost released Deepseek v4. Only way to keep the hype going. I was decently impressed by their showings in 2022 and 2023 but now it seems they are scared of being a national embarrassment or something of the sort.

interesting if true (no idea if it is, but makes sense). Sparsity-maxxing, V4 dropping prices is likely. Lite model trained on Chinese hardware is a good compromise between morale boost, learning and reducing risks to the flagship. We've seen a few such models. But not Whale.
