@Winslow1885 @burningtime329 @RinoTheBouncer "Low fidelity gaming" isn't pretentious at all. Consoles have always been a low cost way to get into gaming and fall behind PC hardware very quickly. "Low spec" isn't an insult, I play on Steam Deck which is very low spec.

@Winslow1885 @burningtime329 @RinoTheBouncer He's not wrong, though. That's pretty much the only thing you can do on a console, aside from maybe watching TV. That's not being pretentious. PC costs more because the hardware is better and because you can do so much more with it.

@richter_sp29198 @Critical_Scribe A lot of people say Arin is just playing a character, but that's what his sequelitis came off as. OoT is pretty much just ALttP in 3D, but he has a problem with it because he couldn't figure out the targeting.

@richter_sp29198 @Critical_Scribe I was never expecting him to be a pro gamer. Vinesauce sucks at some of the games he plays but I still enjoy watching him because he doesn't immediately get angry and blame everything on the game.

Here’s a spicy take: If someone made a game almost exactly like Breath of the Wild but it wasn’t labeled as a Zelda game, it would have gotten 7-8/10s across the board due to a lack of story, weak dungeons, and weapon degradation. I wouldn’t have given it that, and I actually LOVE both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, but people let Zelda “get away” with a lot more than other games and it gets to be a bit much to hear at times. If something is not very good in one game, slapping it into the Zelda world doesn’t magically make the thing good. This goes for any Nintendo property btw.

@richter_sp29198 @Critical_Scribe His sequelitis video came off as him just sucking at playing games. I stopped watching GG because he kept running around in circles for hours and blaming the game for him not being able to figure out what to do. Arin is DSP with an actual audience.

@MiamiNiiice @Critical_Scribe I only care about Kass, Teba, and Revali because they're hot. Other than that, they don't have a lot going for them.

@Critical_Scribe The utter lack of characters I give a shit about in Zelda BOTW and TOTK is the biggest flaw in both games. I guess when you're too chicken shit to have the hero and heroine fall in love after 100 games why should I expect you to write compelling side characters?

@Critical_Scribe People say it has an amazing story which really confuses me. The story barely exists and is clearly an afterthought. I can't get myself to replay the game because the content just sucks, it's the most fucking overrated game I've ever played.

@gabo_fur @detector_sm0ke Sunshine has better content than 64 but I'd still rather play vanilla 64 again because the controls don't suck.

@gabo_fur @detector_sm0ke A game doesn't really need major skips to be fun for speedrunning. Good controls are enough, of which Sunshine doesn't have.

@gabo_fur @detector_sm0ke Even the most hardcore Sunshine speedrunners will openly tell you this game is dogshit.

@gabo_fur @detector_sm0ke It's the other way around. 64's controls are incredibly refined, especially for '96, but the vanilla game doesn't take full advantage of it. Hacks like Green Comet show that you can do a lot. There's a reason hardly anyone speedruns Sunshine, it sucks to play.

@gabo_fur @detector_sm0ke Come on, it's obviously super unfinished. I clipped through a bridge in a level, and the collision around rotating platforms is super wonky. It's not hard, it's just bullshit. 64 hacks get a lot harder but are fun because it actually controls well.
