Murray State Update

The women’s basketball team (30-3) will face off against Evansville (10-24) tomorrow in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament championship at 1 on ESPN2. #10 Evansville has gone on a magical run defeating #2 Belmont and #3 Illinois State on back to back nights.

This is not a knock on anyone. Tough to play out of position

Injuries have not been kind to the Racers this season. Noticeable drop off in defense this series without Cunningham, Barrett, and Ott out. Those 3 give this lineup more length too.

This is a game that would’ve been won easily with Kane Elmy and Graham Kelham. Elmy would’ve gave you more innings than Lyke. Zentko could’ve bridged the gap and handed the ball off the Kelham to slam the door. Hope those guys can get healthy soon.

Good too see Conner Cunningham back in the lineup today. Hopefully whatever injury he had is behind him. Graham Kelham and Kane Elmy are both dealing with injuries but not sure what they are. Hopefully we see those two back soon.

Have no inside knowledge of the program but we’re now 7 games in and have not seen Graham Kelham and Conner Cunningham has not played since Game 2. Kane Elmy has not made an appearance either. Hoping none of the injuries are serious

Former Murray State 2nd baseman Dom Decker hit leadoff and went 1-5 in his Ole Miss debut today.

I fully expect Dylan Zentko, Graham Kelham, and Jacob Roettgen to anchor the bullpen. Excited to see what guys like Reese Oakley, Jackson Lux, Carter Boyd, and Josh Fleming can give us. The pitching staff is much deeper this year. I have no idea what the hitting will look like.

Well all know what to expect with Schutte but super excited to see the leap from Hustedde and what Lyke can give us after being last year’s Friday night guy before going out with an injury. Drew Deremer and Kane Elmy should still be in the starter mix, especially for mid weeks.

It will take the whole city of Murray if we want Romon Domon to be in Murray next year.
