Murray State Update

The pitching has been solid all season and would honestly be elite if Kelham hadn’t missed all season. The offense has been sluggish but seems to be coming alive as of late. We will see!

Conor Chisholm too but he’s been great all season!

Great to see Parker Airhart and Conner Cunningham heating up headed into the conference tournament. Kane Elmy came back this week. Some good momentum headed into next week!

Huge shoutout to @dskirka for having the Racers at the top of the conference again! Has been without Graham Kelham and Kane Elmy all season. Sloan Barrett has been out nearly all season as well.

Wyatt Foust has been hired to become the new head coach at High Point University. Awesome opportunity for him but gigantic loss for the women’s basketball program.

NEWS: Murray State head coach Rechelle Turner is receiving a contract extension that will see her lead the Racers until 2031, sources told @On3. Turner, who was named the MVC Coach of the Year this season, has led the Racers to back-to-back trips to the NCAA Tournament and has won two regular season and tournament MVC titles. The department is also expected to make further investments into the program to position it as one of the top mid-major programs in the country. on3.com/her/news/

Women’s basketball has a really good shot of becoming a powerhouse. The administration is pumping more NIL and funding into the program and Rechelle Turner and Wyatt Foust are going to continue to lead the way.

The women’s basketball team (30-3) will face off against Evansville (10-24) tomorrow in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament championship at 1 on ESPN2. #10 Evansville has gone on a magical run defeating #2 Belmont and #3 Illinois State on back to back nights.

This is not a knock on anyone. Tough to play out of position

Injuries have not been kind to the Racers this season. Noticeable drop off in defense this series without Cunningham, Barrett, and Ott out. Those 3 give this lineup more length too.

This is a game that would’ve been won easily with Kane Elmy and Graham Kelham. Elmy would’ve gave you more innings than Lyke. Zentko could’ve bridged the gap and handed the ball off the Kelham to slam the door. Hope those guys can get healthy soon.

Good too see Conner Cunningham back in the lineup today. Hopefully whatever injury he had is behind him. Graham Kelham and Kane Elmy are both dealing with injuries but not sure what they are. Hopefully we see those two back soon.

Have no inside knowledge of the program but we’re now 7 games in and have not seen Graham Kelham and Conner Cunningham has not played since Game 2. Kane Elmy has not made an appearance either. Hoping none of the injuries are serious
