@gomezdmax For sure- I’ve been teaching sessionally online for about 6 years and what I’ve learned through the pandemic is that it’s totally possible to do it well. Offering remote classes also increases enrolment for students who want to attend university and stay in their communities 😍

@RobynKRowe I can imagine that the biggest no-no from my uni to a "full remote" position would be about teaching Well, actually team-building would be another huge issue, but that's because the uni was founded just 6 years ago

@frankofthenorth Oh wow! That’s amazing! Universities in Canada willing to hire tenure-track faculty remotely are few and far between 🦄 but I’m staying hopeful!

@RobynKRowe Super close. Like, the technology is here, and its been "Assistant Profs and Adjuncts remote lecturing at the University of Alaska since 2006" close.

@native4data Me too! It boggles my mind that settler society can’t understand that institutional goals to “reconcile”, “decolonize”, and “build Indigenous capacity” mean nothing if accommodations for remoteness are impossible. I guess we can only #decolonize on #settler terms.

@ABCole25 100% recommend an ergonomic split keyboard and mouse with the roller for the cursor- with a cushioned mousepad and wrist rest. I thought it was ridiculous but it’s saving me from so much pain.. more than the standing desk and the bazillion dollar chair ever have. 😁

@native4data 🥺 they’re taking that approach in my city too— I keep wondering how the heck they are going to keep efficient track of new cases…

Our local Indian Health Service clinic will not test my son. Said they are running low on tests. If one person in household tests pos, they assume everyone in household is pos. I can't believe this. It's FUCKING YEAR 3 of this pandemic and we still can't get tests.

I feel this @BiidasageKwe - I get stressed out if my hubby takes the receipt and stuffs it in a pocket (he doesn’t have that “overthink everything” thing I have). I need it in my hand. Like a white flag of proof- “I bought this” 🏳 #Colonialism #Discrimination
