@iYacaroB @gietzschean I went last year, I really enjoyed it. Lots of buildings from when it was the seat of the empire. The central city I found very nice. There are some modern buildings there, but mostly it's older ones like in the above photo.

@gietzschean There are, just not many in the central part of the city. Overall it is a very beautiful city. I found the WWII flak towers interesting, but I'm sure many people consider those huge eyesores.

@AdaLluch I visited Vienna last year. Lots of tourists of course. Did I see Muslims? Yes. But I also saw lots of native Austrians and other Europeans.

Vienna is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe until you look around & realise you are surrounded by non European people.

AND why are they choosing to take such a high salary when they could be using more of that for the salaries of their staff and or even paying for summer internship programs where the housing dorms around DC for interns are covered so families from middle and lower income families can afford to allow our kids to intern in DC for a full Summer. My son spent 2 years as the only intern at our Congressional local office in a very regional area he was usually the only person at all in the office as the salaried staff had over 200 mile stretch of road she had to cover for appointments, program check-ins, follow up on inquiries... So he was allowed to intern for a single month Summer between Jr and Sr year since he also had visits with Universities in DC and the areas easily reached from DC. That month cost me almost $4000 I had to save for a year to have that so I could give my son the opportunity to go to DC and see if that might be a path he wanted to go instead of or after military service he was planning for after college. I am homebound disabled Veteran so I have a very based on Warren's bullshit games dependant income. My son also ACTUALLY IS Native American with two Dawes list documentation lineages his GR being enrolled in one and his father enrolled in the other. So you would think Elly here would want to support kids like him being able to take those Summer intern slots that normally are filled by rich kids already set up with DC connections. Each Congressional office has a set Salaries / Staffing $ to divide up as they see fit. The less they pay themselves the more they have for other staff to have higher salaries, have more paid staff positions but at lower pay rate, provide housing program type option for interns.... So keep in mind the cost of living for DC and how much they pay themselves then look at how the rest of their Staffing budget is being spent!
