@kukuruyo I planned to get a card from the main cartoon cast for the collection but I decided to skip the set altogether when I saw this change, because they kept the swap accross the FIVE different cards April got.

This is why it pisses me off so much that people only look at the exact present moment when arguing about something and never consider the future and the slippery slope
It always begins with "it's one time, why do you care", but then that one time is used as precedent to turn it into the default, and weaponized against you with "it was already done before, why are you complaining"
Shitty things have to be stopped when they can still be stopped. Don't wait till something is standardized to push against it, because at that point it's already Status quo and changing it back is almost impossible. Don't wait till certain groups and collectives with censorial and harmful ideas get into positions of power to push against them. Don't wait till draconian laws are passed to push against governments when they start proving for totalitarianism.

I remember when they first made April O'Neil black; I didn't post about it. At the time, it seemed silly to worry about cartoons when there were so many more important things happening. There have been several remakes of TMNT since then, including the recent Magic: The Gathering set, and she's been black in every single one. A reminder that these things only tend to go in one direction. I've since learned to never give an inch on anything, even if people call you unreasonable, racist, or make fun of you or whatever. Remember what they took from you.

Got the idea for this doodle after reading that description, a blacksmith who managed her own business and joined (or hired) an adventure party for a personal quest (like finding a missing relative like a child), wields a magic-powered shotgun.

No. The remake should NOT be looking to "fix" Ocarina of Time. It should be about expanding on what is already there. It should be a love letter to the original that expands on its themes and concepts, and characters, not an attempt to rewrite decisions that you may find disagreeable.

I have to admit i have kind of an unfair advantage in certain discussion because whenever someone tries to be dishonest and ask something like "how has wokeness negatively affected you?!!" i just have to say "I live in Spain" and nobody really argues back XD

To give you an idea of how horrible Spanish woke laws are, there's a controversial case in Spain right now in which a guy is going to spend 8 years in jail for "rape" because his "girlfriend" never told him she didn't consider him her boyfriend The girl is someone who has psychological problems that make difficult for her to express her feelings. She entered in a romantic relationship with a friend for a month in which they had several sexual encounters. But apparently, during all of that time, she didn't actually considered they were in a relationship, she still consider him to be just a friend, but she never told him so. Even when they had sex, she did it because she felt pity for him and didn't want to hurt his feelings. But she never communicated this to him either, again to not hurt his feelings. So essentially, the man never knew during all that time that his girlfriend wasn't actually his girlfriend, and never knew that when they had sex she actually didn't want to have sex, because she never expressed it in any way. This is all by HER own admission in court, so in a normal country with fair laws that would be the end of it. But in Spain, we have the "Yes means yes" law, which says that a woman has to express enthusiastic affirmative consent at every step, or else it's rape. If that reminds you of those 2010s jokes mocking the wokes for pretending that a sexual relationship had to be the guy asking consent for every small step of the sexual act it's because that's exactly what it is. So now because she didn't consider herself to be his girlfriend when they had sex, the guy is guilty of rape, and it doesn't matter that he didn't know, that he couldn't possibly know, that she didn't tell anything to him at all. Because she wasn't "enthusiastically saying yes", now she only has to say "i didn't want it despite never expressing it" and it becomes retroactively rape.

OoT's DL has his tricks too, and is also a cool callback as many other things in the game.
Also, there are tricks to glitch and easily beat both of them.

Dark Link in Ocarina of Time isn’t the final boss but he’s pretty tough, and he has abilities you don’t notably jumping on your sword so you can’t use it.

Can anyone think of a game where the twist is YOU are the final boss? Only one that comes to mind for me is Shadow of the Colossus. (Though the bad ending to Resident Evil 9 totally missed an opportunity there)

A pet historical peeve of mine is when archers are ordered to "fire" before they shoot. Before gunpowder, that term made no sense.
You would have ordered archers to "loose" or possibly "shoot". Also usually a group of archers didn't fire in a synchronized attack all together. Volley fire was developed for gunpowder infantry, to maximize the noise and make sure the enemy was close enough and grouped enough for that first shot to count.
There were times when you wanted your archers to shoot all together, but you wouldn't have each shot be an organized volley. If you did it at all it would just be the first (or the last) shot.
Anyway bowmen don't "fire".

There’s a creepy Kelpie tale about how some kids were playing by a river and a cute pony came over to play. It seemed friendly so the kids started climbing on its back.
One girl, more savvy than the rest, saw that the pony’s body got longer with each new rider, to accomodate them. She tried to warn them but the pony’s skin was like glue, and the kids couldn’t dismount!
The pony (a kelpie) then ran into the river with all the kids screaming and the next morning their livers washed up on the shore.
There are other cautionary kelpie tales but that one hit home.

X monetization is very arbitrary and not transparent at all.
I feel like they throw a few bucks at people to keep them posting to get more fish to jump into the boat — Premium subscribers.
But it does not feel like a viable ecosystem for content creators outside of the a handful of hyper-political accounts.
