@bathorykitsz @GrammarTable @WillFuqua Does this happen in the ‘consuetudinal tense’ that @StanCarey writes about here? stancarey.wordpress.com/2015/03/13/do-… (‘Spring be’s a long way off.’)

@EricaFrances4 @RMIT_PWE Outstanding! And lovely hats. Well done to all 🤓
English

A year later, but I am now finally, officially, an @RMIT_PWE graduate. So much love for this course and these people (and those who aren't in the photo!) 🥰

English

@Valentine702 @abcsydney Yes! What follows is the excellent plural ‘Weets Bick’.
English

Suggestion that this should be my opening topic for @abcsydney breakfast this week. Endorsement or other suggestions welcome.

I’ve made the devastating discovery my other half calls a single weetbix a “WEET BICK.” He says “bix”should only be used for several weetbix (even though it’s spelt with an X.) I’ve informed him he has to call a single box a “bock” from now on.

9 hours of an intensive Grammar Workshop at the end of Term 4 could be a horrifying prospect, but we did it with @TheGoodCopy today and it was invigorating, challenging and brilliant. Couldn’t recommend this more highly for English teams and beyond! Thank you brilliant Penny!!

Every year, we ask freelancers about their mental health. Our study closes this week, and we need more responses. Can you help?
Please persuade a fellow freelancer to take part, or share it with your network. Every response helps thousands of people.

@robheych @BCDreyer @mikepope @GrammarTable @MaryNorrisTNY It’s like the funeral team long ago established this ‘funerals are like mattresses’ thing, which they talk about in meetings and all totally get. And then the reader walks in and they’re like, ‘Anyway so as we know, funerals are like mattresses, which is … hey why are you lea—?’

@TheGoodCopy @BCDreyer @mikepope @GrammarTable @MaryNorrisTNY I have so many questions about this... most importantly: why?
English

Fellow nerds. A real thinker of a dangler for your weekend. Does it dangle? No. But also … does it? Yes. @BCDreyer @mikepope @GrammarTable @MaryNorrisTNY, is this a perfect simile–modifier storm? 🙉

@GrammarTable @BCDreyer @mikepope @MaryNorrisTNY It’s just … when the subject hits, the modifier is cast in a shocking new light

Watching editor Twitter react to That Author's commentary on the singular "they" is life affirming. Keep at it, friends!

A classmate in my daughter's second grade class wrote a story about a rabbit that had no foot. She writes, "He lived. He went to the rabbit feet store. He bought a rabbit foot. He lived." We called it "The Existential Rabbit".

Writing poems in Year 4 today. So impressed with the writing. Some are just natural poets!

@Tim_Coronel Dashes, though. How good are they? Poe is a good source on this
