@kjmac111 Huge Finley fans. Surprising program to go to, though. Hope he balls out! I’m sure @PatMcAfeeShow will love it!

@BradyonBigEast I don’t see any reason why Holtman would leave for Butler.

Butler cannibalizing DePaul would unequivocally be the worst outcome of this coaching search for the Big East. It can't happen. Anyone but Holtmann.

Names to watch for the Butler head coaching job according to the below article - Micah Shrewsberry - Chris Holtmann - Ronald Nored - John Groce Travis Steele listed as unlikely Per the article, sounds like Butler plans to announce mid-to-late this week #DawgsOnly

@ButlerGuru No reason for Holtman to leave. DePaul is continually adding more to compete. That would be a silly move for him

It's been more than a week since Thad Matta announced his retirement. Here's the latest on the search for the next coach, which may be nearing an end. indystar.com/story/sports/c…

It’s on to Portal SZN. Make the roster better. Hopefully with some better funding. Do I agree with the decision at HC? No. But I won’t stop rooting for the team and I’ll continue to care more than anyone. And I’ll continue to be Dawgs Until I Die. Thank you.

Interesting quote here, as Butler can technically retain many players from this season - Jalen Jackson (SR) ✅ - Finley Bizjack (JR) - Ethan McComb (JR) - Drayton Jones (JR) - Jamie Kaiser Jr (SO) - Evan Haywood (SO) - Kavin Ndzie (SO) - Azavier Robinson (FR) - Efeosa Oliogu-Elabor (FR) - Jack McCaffery (FR) - Jackson Keith (FR) - Bryson Cardinal (FR) Obviously the loss of Michael Ajayi (out of eligibility) is significant, and Butler will need to replace that production. But will be interesting to see which current Bulldogs stay/go #DawgsOnly

Not popular, but I’ll give Thad another year at Butler. I know they’ve looked awful & I go back and forth on this, but a new coach with the same NIL resources isn’t going to make a huge difference. Thad loves BU, won’t leave & has a pedigree. I’ll give him 1 more year. Roast me.

Hey @Rachel__Nichols this guy is due to corrupt politicians and refinancing stadium not owned by the bears. And the Bears paid off their debt not long after the renovations to soldier Field were done.
Darren Bailey@DarrenBaileyIL

Soldier Field carries $500M+ in debt. It's paid by hotel taxes and when those fall short, it comes out of income taxes. JB’s family Hyatt got a $150M tax break. That's $150M less covering debt. You get the property AND the income tax bill. And the Bears leave for Indiana. 🙃

Perhaps. But they don’t. That’s the reality. I could say the same thing about you appearing to decide with corrupt politicians in Illinois. Pritzker just announced a crazy budget, which is going to increase taxes without anything to do with the bears. The fact is what they’re asking for is not anything different than every other stadium being built and they are funding the actual stadium themselves. The state of Illinois simply can’t afford a new stadium due to their current debt and how the politicians have been running the state forever. Every fan wants a great stadium. What they want to build will eventually bring a Super Bowl, which brings in more visitors which brings in more revenue. Along with many other events. And if the state cannot afford to help with infrastructure than the bears should go directly across the border where a state can’t afford to help. Quite frankly, I wish they could stay in Chicago, but that is not realistic at this point.

@TheHashmark @Cubpower44 @Rachel__Nichols @TheHerd Perhaps every team should be paying $100 million per year in taxes. But yeah, side with the billionaires who only want to make money, but not spend any to do it.

The not-Chicago Bears? Today the Bears released a statement saying how excited they were for their “vision” of a taxpayer-funded stadium in Hammond, INDIANA. Umm…nope. If you can’t afford to keep the team in Chicago, sell it. Period.

And this is without the Bears. I’m born and raised in IL. Lived in the city for 6 years. The Bears shouldn’t have to move from Chicago, let alone IL. I get that. But NWI is basically a suburb of Chicago. The rest of Indiana doesn’t like NWI because it is mostly former IL residents at one point or another. But financially, NWI is he best move to both the team, the fans, and the residents of IL
Illinois Policy@illinoispolicy

.@GovPritzker just proposed the most expensive budget in Illinois history: A record-breaking $56 bilion. And, as usual, there is a catch. It relies on nearly $600 million in new tax and fee hikes, plus extremely risky gimmicks, including overly optimistic revenue projections and fund transfers. Here is what's in the fine print of Pritzker's FY2027 budget proposal: 🚩$200M in new "social media fees" 🚩$139M in fund "sweeps" (which put backdoor pressure on your local property taxes) 🚩$269M in corporate tax hikes 🚩$120M in casino tax hikes Illinoisans already pay the highest state and local tax burden in the U.S. Relying on $1 billion in "updated revenue assumptions" to balance the books is a massive gamble. When rosy revenue projections fall short, who usually ends up footing the bill? The taxpayers. We've seen this movie before. illinoispolicy.org/pritzker-propo…

Dumb ass @ClayTravis. This is BS. The @ChicagoBears wanted the city and state to sign an awful deal for taxpayers. Just like Kansas did with the @Chiefs. This is CORPORATE WELFARE. But you conservatives adore giving billions to billionaires for palatial stadiums
Clay Travis@ClayTravis

The Chicago Bears leaving for Indiana is an indelible stain on Chicago’s city and state leadership. Great city filled with fantastic people run by total morons.

Rachel is spot on. This bullsh*t about the Chicago Bears moving to Hammond, Indiana, because the f*ucking BILLIONAIRE ownership wants more $$$—and they’ve found a state that will steal from their own people to give it to them—is everything wrong with America today.

@Odgomez26 They want to pay something similar to other NFL teams. Take the Rams in LA. They pay something like 6 or 7 million a year.

@TheHashmark They want to pay almost nothing in property taxes… they’ll have to pay hundreds of millions to the NFL as a relocation fee, is it really worth it in end to move to a place with a small population.

bears only care about money. that's it. that they prioritize handouts over location/their fans says everything. i hope the bears move out, let indiana's taxpayers pay to have them. can't wait to see the Hammond Bears & the look on their face when they pay NIPSCO rates
Chicago Jay@Chicago_Jay1

This is JB Pritzker’s fault Complete incompetence if he lets the Bears leave I’m very curious exactly WHY Indiana can do this and Illinois won’t

@MMurphy_IL @CFCBears Because IL residents are used to getting the raw end of th deal due to IL politics. This is a great deal for Bears and Indians residents. Especially those in NWI. It sparks the long running development in Hammond and surrounding areas. Hoping it happens…

@CFCBears The state regularly pays for infrastructure like this. What you are asking for is the state to treat this development differently (worse) because the Bears are involved.

Yeah JUST infrastructure that wouldn’t be needed if not for the stadium and demanding Illinois residents pay the majority of taxes (that’s what tax certainty means) I can’t blame the Bears for accepting the deal that fucks over Indiana tax payers but I also can’t blame Illinois for not offering the same
David Peters Jr🐻⬇️@david_peters_04

Here we go again, the Bears are just asking for money to be used on infrastructure (roadways, sewers, metra line) and a tax certainty. The team has said countless times that they would pay for the stadium themselves. Before anyone mentions anything about Indiana giving the Bears public money for the stadium, that was what Indiana offered. The Bears would have been dumb to say not to that offer, unless Illinois gives one last push.

Yes, this is common. But I agree because Illinois has completely messed up every taxpayer in the state with how bad the debt is. But at the same time there shouldn’t be anyone complaining that they move if it’s not financially feasible for the state. It’s not a a bad deal in comparative analysis. For the taxpayer it’s bad because of Illinois politics
