The 2026 BAFTA TV and Craft Award nominations feature The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball as a notable contender. Brief memories of late, great Jenni Murray. She told me she couldn’t bear the introduction of digital studio clocks - and insisted on keeping a large Bakelite clock on the table which survived pretty much every BBC modernisation. I had been broadcasting a good few years on R4 before she said something nice. (compliment from Jenni was a rare earth mineral) “So many people think they can do radio” she said. “But it takes a long time to do it very well.” A voice and lady to remember
