Westeros is such a weird place. Art, clothing, culture-wise, they are 12th-14th century Europe. But warfare, economics, and cities are all 16th-18th century (just no gunpowder). And the way people talk, behave, their morals, etc., are all late 20th century.

The characters in Fire and Blood are barely characters. Most chapters aee like "Glup of House Shitto was a hale and happy lad of 3 and 10. Beloved by some, hated by others, he was-- oh no hes dead now! Was his death natural? Was it murder? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

@AlternateTimel2 @girlbosswoman I can suspend disbelief for this. Nomadic societies aren’t a monolith - bands of parasitic raiders absolutely existed throughout history. But typically they needed some form of pastoralism, even if small. In turbulent times they would focus more on raiding but yeah

Not everything is up for interpretation and that’s the problem.
Good example: Laenor surviving. The maester writing f&b has no way of knowing the truth, therefore it does not break the canon.
Bad example: sources in f&b disagree on daemon’s relationship with nettles. But NONE of them dispute that she existed and claimed sheepstealer.
