@Baldedbeast64@Official_BRFC I'll make it easy for you.
You took 26000 to wembley 11 years ago, that doesn't have any impact on your current support levels
@alanwalters6@CrootMatt I suppose it's about making the club sustainable.
We're still losing millions a year while spending below the cap. He's a businessman first and foremost
@alanwalters6@CrootMatt Move on to who?
Which owner would you rather have than Lansdown? There are things I would change right now, but Lansdown is far from one of them
@_mapes@CrootMatt Oh I have been saying it since Pat let out we spent £3 million less than Bath...last season. Steve Lansdown is a great man...a proud Bristolian who gave his personal money to create something very special in both rugby and football. But, both have stalled...we have to move on!
@Baldedbeast64@Official_BRFC There weren’t more than 26000. 47000 there with 2000 Grimsby fans and some hospitality, do the maths.
7000 goes into 12000 though, as this season has shown!
@_mapes@Official_BRFC There were more than 26,000. Obviously not got a maths. We have a 12,000 cap. So 26,000 won't fit into 12,000 if we go by your numbers
@alanwalters6@CrootMatt 'Lansdown needs to sell us'
I would say that is quite the overreaction really, I'd imagine you weren't saying so a fortnight ago?
@CrootMatt Id get our 8 best players off & save them for the next embarrassing performance...LRZ is rubbish by the way, he needs to go...we need a 10 and Marmion is our best 9. At full strength we arent good enough...Steve Lansdown needs to sell us and go...audacity to release ST for 2026/7
@Baldedbeast64@Official_BRFC Ah 47000 overall, of which 26000 were Rovers fans.
The statement still stands, taking 26000 fans to Wembley 11 years ago hardly points to you needing a new stadium now
@_mapes@Official_BRFC 46,000 at Wembley for a conference game. There weren't many Grimsby fans. Many more at Wembley for play off final against Shrewsbury and the millennium stadium there were more against Doncaster. We have had a relegation and nearly a relegation last 2 seasons.
@Baldedbeast64@Official_BRFC No agenda, just don’t understand the point.
You haven’t sold out a league game in years, you only had 10k today due to free tickets being given out.
The stadium needs upgrading, sure, but you don’t need a bigger ground. There’s nothing to support that
@Baldedbeast64@Official_BRFC Taking 26k to Wembley 11 years ago hardly makes it logical for you to need a bigger stadium.
Yesterday was your 3rd 10k crowd for a league game in the last 5 years apparently, a 10k stadium is, if anything, too big for you
@_mapes@Official_BRFC Millennium stadium and Wembley old and new with 5 figure crowds in the 10's of thousands . Bristol is 7th biggest city. Room for 2 clubs the size of Sheffield Utd and Wednesday. Big student base. Years of success needed for both clubs in higher leagues to build fan base.
@Baldedbeast64@Official_BRFC It was only a sell out because you gave away so many free tickets.
Let’s not pretend you would have got 10k yesterday if it weren’t for thousands being there on a free ticket
@_mapes@Official_BRFC The Thatchers was a sell out yesterday. Double the size of the popular end. That would sell out Make it all seater , families would come. Everyone who have built bigger stadiums get bigger crowds. People can arrive later knowing they have a seat. More success brings more people.
@_mapes@Official_BRFC 7,933 actually. For a team who have been bottom 6 for most of season. 9245 for our opening game against Harrogate. 10,160 yesterday. If we had been Top 6 then sell outs would have been frequent. Just like our last promotion season from league 2 where sell outs were common
